Catholic Pontiff, Pope Francis, has asked President Muhammadu Buhari to find ways to stop the killing of Nigerians across the country.

Lamenting what he described as the senseless killings of Nigerians by suspected jihadists, the Pope called on the Federal Government to guarantee the safety of all citizens.

The Holy Father expressed his sentiments of prayerful solidarity with Nigerians over last weekend’s killing of over 40 people by armed religious militia in Southern Kaduna during his usual Wednesday General Audience at the Vatican City.

He said it was not only in Southern Kaduna that people were being massacred, stressing that everywhere in the country, Nigerians are being killed.

“I learnt with pain the news of the armed attacks that took place last Sunday against the villages of Madamai Abun, in northern Nigeria.

“I pray for those who have died, for those who have been injured and for the entire Nigerian population. I hope that the safety of all citizens in the country will always be guaranteed,”
the Pope added.

He urged the Federal Government to provide adequate security for Nigerians in every part of the country.

Northern Nigeria has endured several years of violence, with herders and farmers competing for natural resources while sporadic violence by heavily armed bandits often lead to endless reprisals between communities.

Telling a Terr0rist to stop killing is like asking fire to stop being hot.

I see different people opening threads and posting gory pictures of the late Akunyili. Everyone seem to have forgotten that, that same yesterday, soldiers killed several Shiites Muslims. They were whipped, shot at and stabbed mercilessly by the so-called soldiers who are supposed to be at the battle front in Borno, killing actual terrorists.

The question is, why is it that people are more concerned about the death of Akunyili than the deaths of those innocent Muslims?
Why is it that, the way those Muslims were murdered by "security agents", is not more frightening than that of Dora Akunyili's husband?
Or is it that, because the crime was perpetrated by soldiers in Abuja, somehow, that made it less terrible than the one done by alleged UGM in the East?

It's a pity indeed.

Nigeria media should stop feeding Nigerians with garbage news.

Even if Pope was high on Flakka, he can never make this statement

Buhari will be more infuriated with the fact that it's the Pope ( a Christian) who said all these.

Buhari will be furious and infact his fellow terrorists enablers will ask Fulani Jihadists to intesify their attacks on Christian targets.

A Pastor was gruesomely murdered in Kano by Muslim terrorists just because his ministry was growing and till this moment we have not seen any official statement by the Kano State or federal government condemning the provocative act.
No Muslim body has said anything to condemn it yet some of you stupid southern Christians think massacring of Christians on a daily basis in Plateau, Benue and Kaduna are not pre-planned.
Continue your foolishness you will not be wise until it gets to you.

It's time we start looking for solutions ourselves than waiting for the government.
The people are also a government. Community policing will be effective with good guns..

Being offensive is the best form of defense

, What's the difference between the Catholic Church and Islamic Jihadist?

FROM a historical perspective!!!!!

antibullshit:

The difference between the catholic church and islamic jihadists is that they've reformed . They killed people hundreds of years ago but they don't do it any more . Secondly no black african took part in any of their atrocities and neither was any of the acts committed on our behalf so stop bringing up what europeans did hundreds of years ago in an attempt to justify what african terrorists are doing to fellow africans!

You are wise, perfect Response.. I respect you!
My question was harmless only wanted to be educated.
Thanks

Make we no lie no actual difference.

But let give Islam some time it will also become like the modern Roman Catholic Church led Christianity (I pray they don't Allahu Ka Boom us all before then grin grin). Remember Islam came about 600 years after Christianity.

OP, that is not what he said. He did not mention Buhari at all in the statement. We cannot decry BMC and then spread fake news in the same breath.

And the scripture is gradually getting fulfilled. Repent for it may be too late. The world is gradually coming to an end. Killing is now a norm in our society.
