If we are mumu for allowing the US to have presence in our country, then the rest of the world with US presence are all mumu too? See how silly and pointless you sound? 19 Likes 2 Shares |

NGpatriot: Your view on this is somewhat myopic. Many of the people you claim are useless for Nigeria will continue to be in Nigeria because they can't afford to travel. Most of the people traveling are our professionals including doctors, engineers, accountants, nurses, computer scientists and other people who can afford it. So you get a mere $23 billion from them while the economy continues to suffer productivity. This means you will continue to borrow from the same countries where they are migrating. When you want to develop a software, you will go to Israel or USA and pay $50 million dollars (N15 billion naira) instead of $50 thousand dollars (N15 million naira) because you don't have competent professionals 10 Likes 1 Share |

Don't worry, we know the present ipob-induced happenings in iboland are enough to make you ibo people jealous and envious of this yet another positive development in the SW corridor while your own ibo states struggle to surpass/outdo each other in bloodletting activities. But be rest assured that you will always be welcome to stay and seek refuge in our peace-loving region, as long as you eschew every IPOBic/terroristic tendency. Dangote is building the biggest refinery in Africa @ ibeju Lekki, he has paid for the land, the people have collected his money, it doesn’t belong to them anymore, when his 99 years lease expires, it goes to the State Government that is the law of Nigeria, not what you fanthom in your myopic tribalistic mind. |

Rexwalters1: You are very funny and suffering from mental disorders. There is no need answering you or teaching you foundational principle surrounding Eko history. So, it was the British that helped Oba Dosunmu to defeat Oba Kosoko and seize the control of Lagos from Oba of Benin ? You don't know anything. You can continue to wallow in historical manipulation and illusions. You are an Aboki and a foolish one for that matter. As I have often said in different fora, it is the present ELEKO (Oba Akiolu) that caused all this perversion. Under the previous ELEKOs (Adele,Oyekan, etc) nobody can have the courage to say all this nonsense. An Aboki, believes that because part of Lagos Island was a British Colony, then it has become British property that was handed over to the Mallam at Independence. Can a Mallam tell the Zulu people that Pretoria is a British property ? When the time comes, you will cry. My only suggestion for the Lagos State Government is to name the Atlantic City after Tinubu. They can call it Tinubu Atlantic City. That Atlantic City is the summation of Tinubu's Intellect, Resilience and Courage. Tinubu fought the battle of his life to rescue Victoria Island and Lekki from being submerged or swept by the Atlantic Ocean. Obasanjo and the PDP frustrated Tinubu on that project. Tinubu's courage rebuilt VI. 11 Likes 1 Share |

socialmediaman: Fact is, it doesn't matter who is doing jaoa, doctor or lawyer, it doesn't matter, if you feel like you can not stay in Nigeria to do your part to make Nigeria great, then go and japa, make money and remit the money for us to do what you refused to do in Nigeria before you japa. If you can not help Nigerian here in Nigeria, then japa and send us the money, this is how you make yourself useful doctor or no doctor, who cares, just remit the money back to Nigeria. Nigeria is not the only country on earth going through hardship so save that blackmail, up till the day GEJ left office, he was borrowing hundreds if billions to pay salaries so if GEJ was borrowing to pay workers salaries till his last day in office, do you expect Nigeria to be rich the next day, stop borrowing and Nigerians drinkking champagne? Get real with realities, we all know how we got here, when your uncles in power before this admin were doing the damage, hypocrites like you sat quiet and did nothing. 1 Like

Rexwalters1: Thanks but that advice is coming rather late. I am both a landlord and landowner with several acres of landed properties, located in Lagos and other SW states. I fit sell land for you sef if you want. See, that's the thing about us here in the SW. Land ownership is not a problem for the average yoruba man, because God has so blessed us with more than enough landmass. It's the reason why we are also very open to selling land to foreigners like yourself, because e too yakpa. Unlike una wey dey kee unasef over land matter. The small one wey una get sef erosion don render am useless. It must be really tough being ibo in this life. Problem no dey finish for una. I feel your pain bro. 8 Likes 2 Shares |

babaolofin:The first Oba of Lagos to be buried in Lagos was Oba Dosunmu, all others prior were buried in Benin. History https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Oba_of_Lagos All Obas of Lagos trace their lineage to Ashipa, a war captain of the Oba of Benin. Ashipa was rewarded with title of Oloriogun (or War leader) and received the Oba of Benin's sanction to govern Lagos. Some Benin accounts of history have the Ashipa as son or grandson of the Oba of Benin. Other accounts note that Ashipa is a Yoruba corruption of the Benin name Aisika-hienbore (translated "we shall not desert this place". Ashipa received a sword and royal drum as symbols of his authority from the Oba of Benin on his mission to Lagos. Additionally, the Oba of Benin deployed a group of Benin officers charged with preserving Benin's interests in Lagos. These officers, led by Eletu Odibo, were the initial members of the Akarigbere class of Lagos White Cap Chiefs. Prior to the arrival of the British, the Oba of Benin had "the undisputed right to crown or confirm the individual whom the people of Lagos elect[ed] to be their King". The defeat of Oba Kosoko by British forces on December 28, 1851, in what is now known as the Bombardment of Lagos or Reduction of Lagos, or locally as Ogun Ahoyaya or Ogun Agidingbi (after boiling cannons), put an end to Lagos' s former allegiance to the Oba of Benin. Kosoko was therefore the last Oba of Lagos to remit annual tributes from the people of Lagos to the Oba of Benin. Oba Akitoye, who was re-installed to the throne by the British, "seized the opportunity of his restoration under British protection to repudiate his former allegiance" to Benin and rebuffed subsequent tribute requests from the Oba of Benin. Previous rulers of Lagos have used the titles of Ologun (derived from Oloriogun), Eleko and, most recently, Oba of Lagos |

treesun: Nobody is stealing from any poor people because most poor people aren't even productive to start with, hence their condition. So what's there to steal from them? Infact, most poor people put themselves in that position due to their own poor life choices. Every country in the world has them in varying numbers. They also need to stop giving their small money to pastors in the form of tithes and offerings, that way they will have more to spend on themselves to beat poverty. I repeat, nobody owes a poor man anything in life. Rather, he owes it to himself to improve his own lot. Capish. |

treesun: Change that mentality bro, for it will not take you anywhere. Like I said, often times poverty boils down to choices, ignorance, and environmental factors Wrong choices and ignorance can be cured through exposure to better education. In this Internet age, most valuable knowledge out there can be obtained for free. E.g, there are many I.T experts that taught themselves I.T skills they learned online via their phone, all it demands is the discipline and will power. Young lads are making millions legitimately from editing comedy skits that make us laugh. Etc. Through education a farmer can learn or device innovative means to improve his crop yield, because nothing you are experiencing in life is peculiar to you alone; others have also passed through and overcame. Environment can also be a factor in the sense that if you only surround yourself with poor people that prefer to wallow in self pity in their condition, you will never rise above that condition. Rather you should look to ambitious people to motivate you to do better. Nobody owes you jack sheet. But you owe it to yourself to be a better version of you. Selah. 1 Like |
