Nigerian Breweries plc donated a Hilux vehicle worth 3 million naira to Kaduna State Vigilance Services (KADVIS) to help her operational services.

In the same vein, it donated books and and teaching aids to Chibok Girls Secondary School ,Borno State , Government Girls Science School, Kwoi and a special school in Sokoto State ,Abdulsamad Raji School.


The gestures according to the management are part of her usual Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) to the Society.


In a chat with Journalists shortly after the grand finale of the Maltina Teacher of the year ,7th edition which held in Kaduna, Mr. Kabir Kasim the Cooperate Affairs manager in-charge of the North for Nigerian Breweries explained reasons for the donations.

He stated : "We are donating vehicle today to KADVIS to enhance the security situation in the state, this is to support the state government in their efforts to also boost security from the grassroot which led to the introduction of KADVIS, and we felt that at that level we can take it and make it better for Nigeria, starting with KADVIS a contact for security assistance and support.

" For the donation of the books, it is an annual program by Nigerian Breweries and Felix Ohiwerei foundation, we donate books to secondary schools each year across the country, this year we took a different dimension, we looked at schools that are abit vulnerable , so we considered a special school in Sokoto which is Abdulsamad Raji school, we gave them crutches, hearing aids and we gave them a lot of teaching aids because its a special school and also books.

"We spent 3.5 million for the books , for the vehicle it actually worth 3million Naira. The 3 million naira is split across the three schools; for Chibok what we are looking at is the gender based donation where we want to show our support on gender, most especially the females to encourage them to go to school and have a better education and better life" he said.


Speaking on the Maltina Teacher of the Year competition, Kassim explained ," it was created through the Nigerian Breweries-Felix Ohiwerei Education Trust Fund in 2015 to support the provision of quality education by providing funds for a structured intervention in the educational sector.

"The Maltina Teacher of the Year Awards recognizes and celebrates exceptional teachers in NigeriaWe are here today to celebrate outstanding teachers through our Maltina Teachers of Year Event 2021. This event rewards the best teachers across the country with the following gifts; 1m naira Salary for the best teacher for 5 years.

"The wining school is rewarded with blocks of classrooms worth N20m The state champions are rewarded with N500k each for all the 36 state winners in the federation. The 2020 Maltina Teacher of the Year winner emerged from Adamawa state In Concordia College. The school was rewarded with N20 million worth of Classroom".

He said, the initiative is open to teachers in ALL secondary schools across the country. The 2021 winner would benefit from the rewards attached to this prestigious competition.

"Since the birth of the brand, Maltina has always been at the forefront in putting smiles on the faces of Nigerian families, with various initiatives and campaigns. Over the years, the brand has positively impacted the lives of families and communities across the country, with platforms like Maltina Dance Hall, Maltina Teacher of the Year, Maltina School Games, Ramadan CSR Campaign Promotions & Sponsorships of Festivals – Argungun & Kano Durbar".he added .

Meanwhile, the following winners emerged as state winners from the northern region, John Ifeanyichukwu Amaka (Kebbi), Elizabeth Samson (Niger), Abdullahi Mohammed Salish Thompson Obaka James (Bauchi), Bamido Patrick Amaya-Akpala (Katsina)
Christopher Yem Ngumi (Kaduna), Brian-Eke Chinelo MC (Nasarawa), Victor Bisong Egbe (Kano) Nana Hauwa Abdulsalam (Jigawa), Dickson Alfa Unekwu(Kogi), Yusuf Rebecca Ughili(Plateau) and Binta Lawan (Borno).
All the winners were all presented with cash prizes of N500,000 each.
