Lol. Even quack nurses know how to draw blood not to talk of a "qualified" doctor

But is it really a doctor's call to take blood samples?

My Daddy wants me to be a Doctor. My Mummy wants me to be a Doctor. So I became a Doctor. This is the result. undecided

If u ask this Doctor now, he will tell you he never wanted to study Medicine let alone practice Medicine.

Probably he wants to be a Musician undecided

Parents please don't push your kids to study what you want them to study. Let them choose for themselves.

They should counsel him and tell him to pursue what he really wants to do in life.

Me that did not even study Medicine, I have treated so many patients battling several ailments from Cancers, Diabetes, HBP, Chronic Sickle Cell (now turned AA, my best testimony so far), Kidney Problem, Glaucoma, Stroke, Ulcers, Eye Infection name it just from using Regenerative Medicine and they are all doing fine today.

When God has called you into something, you jus find yourself doing that thing one way or the other even if u initially didn't study it as ur first degree. God will just position u there after school one way or the other and every patient your hand touches will testify. That has been my testimony. God is really POWERFUL.

Now I'm thinking of going to get a second degree in the Medical World.

May God help me becos this too journey long.

Taking of blood sample is easy to learn even for a non medical student so why should a doctor be unable to take blood sample after almost 8 years training.

It isn't uncommon to meet certified docs, nurses, pharmacist etc that don't really know the job on the onset, these can be related to theories with little clinical training, i remember when i started working i found it strange, it took a few to get better, but now i am heading a ward in my hospital as a nurse even though it is a private hospital but our services are standard as we recently passed inspection, his case maybe different but he only worked for a week

The day i gave up on Nigerian doctors was when i saw one using google to check symptoms
Something that should be a basic for a doctor
Smh

You clearly don't understand the basis for differential diagnosis...

I have seen well trained and renown consultants check medical books for correlations and symptomatology even in the midst of clinical activities. There is no shame in getting better clarification on medical issues while making clinical decisions, and Google happens to be the quickest reference library for all professionals especially physicians.

It is nothing but sheer and misguided arrogance for any professional to think he is so well versed that he fails or refuses to cross-check other references or even ask other colleagues especially outside his area of specialty.

You are right.

The only difference is that Adeosun's certificate has been proven to be fake while this guy actually qualified as a doctor.

So flokii, see your life. You have ended up disgracing Adeosun your sister again.
Adeosun never faked her certificate, please get your fact right.

Of course you can do differentials that is normal
Doing it in front of a patient is a no no

See wetin sorting cause.

Same thing is happening with some nurses in the uk, they come here start working all through and pay people to do assignments for them then when they are done their hope is to learn on the job.

I once met a registered nurse that the worse thing u can do to him is to supervise him once he takes vitals of a patient or tell him to give a patient injection, he prefers to bring u an excuse so another person will do it while he watches. If u tell him do it he would go to YouTube and start watching videos despite that u can see how nervous he is in the process
Such person will be mocking others who effortlessly engage in the job

Okay... I get that.

However, if the doctor is pressed for time and in an emergency, he may have no other choice.

Sometimes, he might even have to call in another specialist to assist in the diagnosis! Medicine is not an exact science!

it's a Romanian certificate, it's the same as nothing.

As bad as naija trained doctors can be at least they know what an obstetrican is.

The heading says Nigerian doctor but the issue is more where he was trained, not where he was born.

are you implying that the med schools in these countries are substandard whereas our health sector is not up to theirs

i know ukrainian and russian trained doctors who know their onions so its a personal thing, maybe this guy was into something else and using school to cover up

From my limited knowledge, it depends.

Some of the schools in those countries are better than others.

Thanks for the needless insult....

You still failed to answer the simple question... What makes a European nation's medical school bad or worse than that of Nigeria, especially where the former has a far better healthcare?!!

You can see that I wasn't even the one who made the comparison to begin with... You can't just condemn any nation's medical degree without proper evidence!

FYI, I have never condemned or downgraded Nigerian medical schools or their products. Never!!!

It really depends on the school. It's not as simple as saying that because a person went to country X that they will have done the real work required to become a trained doctor.

Nope!!!... I still don't get the relevance of that question or how it answers mine!

There are quacks everywhere in the universe, even in the most developed nations on Earth, and there are well read and trained professionals even in the most underdeveloped nations on Earth.

So, on what grounds do we write off Romania with regards to producing medical doctors of prestige?!!... And what or where is the documented evidence for such position?!!
