The Bimodal Voter Accreditation System (BVAS) will be used for the November 6, Anambra State Governorship Election.

The Accreditation process for the Anambra Governorship Election shall comprise the verification and authentication of voters using the BVAS for cross-checking the voters’ names in the Register of Voters as well as authenticating the voters using their fingerprints or facials.

This is to ensure that a person intending to vote shall be verified to be the same person on the Register of Voters in accordance with Section 49(2) of the Electoral Act 2010 (As Amended).

Good move, the next should be finding technological ways of curbing underage voting in Nigeria mostly in the north. That is one of the major factors affecting the potency of electoral results. If we can get a good and efficient INEC, then we can get a good Nigeria.

We cannot achieve that right now in Nigeria, because we don't have a strong Citizens database-system in Nigeria.
..
..
Assuming that we have a system of compulsory registration of persons at the point of birth, and then giving the person a NIN-number at the point of birth, then a person cannot come at the age of 7 or 8 and claim to be 18 while registering for INEC..
The NIN information would immediately bring out the person's real Age.
