It is not leaking soil.It is quack contractors using inferior materials.

If possible go and buy your building materials yourself to avoid stories that touch

If you are building in Lagos make sure the reinforcement is solid and pillar strong

When building in lekki with soft soil, make sure your engineers use pile foundation

Ignorant comment. We can build bridges on top of sea, talk more of Lekki. Every crust has a solid layer; what you need do is to locate the solid layer and bury your foundation. Piling comes to mind.

Most contractors/developers are greedy, they are only interested in their profit.

All those builders/contractors are fraudsters.From my personal experience it’s better to buy house and renovate than to build from scratch.Those builders will rip you off

It is not about the soil. You can even build on water . However , Nigerians should brace for a season of collapsed buildings . Why ? Because the cost of construction is increasing by the day and unscrupulous contractors and developers will start cutting corners in a bid to keep making money . Any house built in the last 2-3 years should be closely monitored .

Sometimes it is as if Nigerians use the word Corruption as an excuse to be lazy and avoid the ground work of organizations necessary for society to function a best as it can while foreigners use corruption on Nigerians as a slur. There is nothing that happens in Nigeria that wouldn't happen anywhere else in the world, even the Vatican city, if those places rely on human honesty not to bend the rules, cheat, steal or kill instead of putting in place every measure they can against humankind self-interested nature.

The CCTV in banks in the USA, China, Tokyo and Madrid is as much to monitor the very security guards employed by the banks as it is to monitor or watch out for external infiltration.
