Not even one......Point me in the direction of one thread where it is marketed if I am wrong
just type "desulphator" in the search box
it will take you to where u will find desulphator users on nairaland. which battery marketer will wanna sell something that will prevent you frm buying more batteries from him?

Inverter experts in the house please help out. I have Microtek and Sinergy inverters that keep giving me issues. About 50pcs of each brand currently faulty, sinergy inverters are displaying short circuit protection, while the microtek does not charge the batteries sometimes or refuses to output power. Funny incident is that, some of the inverters work well in the testing shop, but when deployed in various locations in the field, they don't work. I'm currently clueless as to what the problem could be. Anyone with ideas pls quote.

I can supply u spectra n other durable brands, it might also b installation issue, I can walk u through.. Chat/call 08117398294 for further discussion

Please how long will a 90watts load (3pcs 30watts LED floodlights) last on a 100Ah battery? A 1kw inverter used.

Cc makavele

Please help me explain some things please

What exactly is this dod i keep hearing

DOD means depth of discharge . . the opposite of SOC which means state of charge . . simply put, it's how far you should discharge your batteries before recharging them. Typically, you shouldn't discharge below 50% to prolong your battery life. how do you know the DOD?
A full battery would typically be at 12.7 volts... once the battery hits 12.0V, that's 50% DOD. You should switch off and recharge, taking it below 12.0V will kill it faster.

Also, i use 1 ceiling fan, 1 55" tv, 1 laptop, 1 sound system, 2 white bulb.

A ceiling fan is typically 80W, a 55' TV if it's an OLED tv, should be around 125W, if it isn't led technology, can be as high as 300W
a laptop around 65W, sound system around 40W, 2 white bulb (CFL you mean: around 2 x 15w)
So rough calculation is: 80 + 125 + 65 + 40 + 30 = 340 (adding 10% losses 340 + 34 = 374W) almost 400 W
These are just estimates, if you would like to be more accurate, please check the ratings label on each appliance for a more specific power rating.

I need an inverter and good battery
I'm looking at getting 2 200ah batteries.

Well, for 400 W or so, you skipped out one important part. How long do you want them online? 24/7, 10 hrs, 4hs, afternoon only, overnight only. Without this info I cannot proceed. Let's just imagine you want all of them online at the same time for just 12hours per day.
400 W x 12h = 4800 Wh. Remember we cannot discharge batteries below 50% so we multiply by 2
4800 Wh x 2 = 9600 Wh and we multiply by 1.25 for efficiency sake = 12,000 Wh
So you would need at least 12,000 Wh divided by 200AH batteries = 60 then divided by 12V = 5 batteries
You can only connect 5 batteries in parallel (bad idea cos of too much current); so going series we have to add 1 more battery or drop one battery. to make either 4 or 6 batteries. 6 is better.
So to run 400W of load for 12 hours to 50% with peace of mind, you will need 6 units of 200Ah batteries.
A 1.5KVA inverter is golden here . . which will give you just about 1200 or less usable power. It's always a good idea not to load your inverter past 50%. You will only see a 1.5kva in 12 or 24 v . .
which means you will need to connect batteries at 2 series 2 parallel . . 2 x 2

I have nepa light 9hours out of 24hours.

I have idea about batteries which is why i know 2 200ah batteries would be okay for me.

But i dont have idea about inverters, which inverter would be suitable for me? What spec should the inverter have?

You can either go cheap or very expensive . . depends on your pocket. Each one get the job done. The expensive ones adds more perks; more charging power and more peace of mind.

Also, these inverters, can the batteries charge at the same time or one battery has to charge first before another one begins charging

They charge at the same time and discharge at the same time. I do not want to go into details about battery balancing . . where a battery will charge higher or discharge lower than another. Story for another day.

Kindly see my reply in blue ink above.
Forgive any typos and miscalculations. Had a very busy day.

Apart from hiring professionals, you should also have basic idea how an inverter solar installation works.

It's a daily cycle of recharging, discharging and proper load management. Once you get your calculations right, you won't have issues.

Most problems of solar installation is design. Once your design is poorly sized, you will never get good result. for example how do you expect a 150watt panel recharge a highly discharged 200AH battery within a day?

I have been using my setup for almost 4 years and my batteries still fire strong.

I would advise you research more to enjoy world of RE.

Thats battery murder and seen in abnormal conditions not normal to me angry ! Under normal conditions with detailed schematic, we plan 50% DOD for most agm / gel / tubular batteries ,so the ultimate back up time here should vary between 6-7hrs max or you simply double your battery bank to avoid stories that touch as most says batteries die early and keeps publicizing to people around them that inverter setup is fraud or a rip off whilst its primarily just poor system design you did from onset . Personally I feel expensive inverters are overrated

Once one is spending above 60k for an inverter set-up, the person is much much better off with a good and original generator

These deep-cycle batteries speedily lose capacity...some within months...and the set-up itself hardly goes a full year without having to fix or replace something

And Nigerian Inverter technicians are not helping matters either....i will just leave this one at this

At least with generators, as long as one has an original one, and maintains it well, there are hardly any problems....and there are very many fuel economical and soundproof generators in the market presently

I have been using a ups inverter and an inec 27ah li-ion battery to power my tv, Bluetooth speaker and phone chargers for almost 3 years without any significant reduction in capacity of the battery...and haven't replaced anything in the ups or the battery's charger .. ..but within just one year I went through 2 brand new 200ah deep cycle batteries and series of problems with a larger inverter set-up.

Your case may be different sha...but this is my honest opinion

What type of inverter are you using with the INEC 27Ah battery?

The UPS is the inverter.....It is also connected to a light socket....so it seamlessly switches between Nepa and inverter mode automatically...

I did it myself after going through a thread here about such stuff sometime in 2014...

From the ibm laptop charger used to charge the battery to the battery itself and the ups, I havent replaced anything from the time I built it.. The only time I remember it's existence is when I am doing house cleaning and have to clean dust off the set-up

It powers a 37-inch led tv, a nexus rechargeable fan, a 50-watt bluetooth speaker if the tv is off, and multiple phone chargers for at least 5 hours when fully charged...and absolutley no reduction in capacity all these years.

So contrary to what some fellas here are insinuating, I manage power fine....So they should just point me in the direction of a deep cycle battery/ Inverter set-up that will give me such bliss for such a long time smiley

Below is a picture of the setup with the appliances

This is great.

I didn't know I can connect a UPS directly to the INEC 27Ah battery. I was thinking the transformer in the UPS will cause issues since the INEC battery delivers 13-16volts.

Currently the inverter I use (been in use for 5 months now) with the INEC battery has issues. When in use, it makes some noise and shuts down the INEC battery. The INEC battery doesn't come on again till I get to charge it for like 5 seconds.

This is surprising as I've never gone above 46 watts on it. So I've dumped the inverter for now. I got the INEC battery in 2014 and it's still great. For now, I only use it to charge phones and power a DC fan.

The inec battery only has a 19volt And 30volt port by default....but I opened it up and created a 12volt connection inside it which is directly connected to the UPS and stays live even when the battery is switched off and only goes dead when the ups is switched off....and yes....the battery's factory ports can still be switched on irrespective of whether the ups is on or off

You will notice I didn't add a laptop to the stuff I use with the ups inverter...this is because i save battery power by powering and charging the laptop directly from the battery's 19volt port with one cable I bought for 500 naira or so....and this method powers my laptop for nothing less than 19 hours if the battery is fully charged..smiley

...So yes....You did a wrong connection by connecting the inverter to the 19volt port if that's what you did....take your battery to any of these inverter technicians for them to creat a 12volt connection for you and you are good to go smiley..

By the way, the ups I used is the one that uses only one battery...i once tried a 300 watts blender on it for some emergency blending and it worked grin...but the heat that emanated from the ups that day made me not to try it ever again...

LOL!

I didn't create the INEC battery-Inverter connection myself. It was done by the same inverter technician I got the INEC battery from years ago.

I've mentioned it to him already but it's just that I haven't found time to take it to him. And since I have a UPS lying around, I thought it would be great if I can use that for now.

Concerning the 13-16volts output I mentioned, it wasn't about the 19v and 30v ports. I got the voltage readings from a Digital Multimeter when I checked the cables that supplies power from the INEC battery to the inverter. The wiring was done from within the INEC battery by the technician. Based on my readings, when the battery is full, it shows 16 volts, and the lowest I've seen is 13.xx.

I would like you to measure your 12 volts direct connection readings if it falls within the voltage range I mentioned.

Thanks.

Yes.....the battery to ups connection fluctuated somewhere between 12.5 and 11.8 volts as at when I did the set-up years ago....

And that was the last time I saw the insides of both the battery and the ups

It's not like I am a technician or have any kind of engineering background....i just tinkered with it then according to the instructions I read on this forum and luckily, it worked smiley

i would have done the reading again but I don't have a multimeter nearby..
