Anambra State: The Major Important Roads In Awka-North L.G.A by BluntCrazeMan: 1:00am On Nov 18, 2021
THE MAJOR IMPORTANT ROADS IN AWKA-NORTH L.G.A IN ANAMBRA STATE THAT WERE LEFT UNATTENDED TO ALL THESE YEARS.
..
(THESE ROADS ARE THE HIGH PRIORITY AND HIGH FEASIBILITY ROADS WHICH THE GOVERNMENT OF ANAMBRA STATE SHOULD CONSIDER TO CONSTRUCT IN AWKA-NORTH L.G.A)
..
..
1. Mgbakwu To Ebenebe, with a 70m long Bridge Across The Ezu River at Ebenebe.
(Length= 11.6km)

..
There used to be an old bailey bridge over the Ezu river that connected the road from Mgbakwu to Ebenebe, but since the bridge got spoilt during the military era, the road itself became redundant since that time, and it was overtaken by serious gully erosions.
..
At the moment, for anyone who wants to travel to Ebenebe from Mgbakwu (both towns in Awka-North LGA), the person would have to go back to Awka (in Awka-South LGA), and then to Amansea, and then to Ebenebe.
(That's a circular journey of about 24km).
..
..
..
2. Amanuke to Ugbene, with a 50m long Bridge Across The Ezu River at Ugbene.
(Length= 13km)

..
There used to be a functional (but a very old) bailey bridge over the Ezu river that connected the road from Amanuke to Ugbene. The bridge had been very useful since the time it was constructed until some few years ago when one of its abutments collapsed.
The road itself is still being put to use currently, but it is mainly being used by the pedestrians only - since vehicles can no longer ply over the damaged bridge.
..
At the moment, for anyone who wants to travel to Ugbene from Amanuke (both towns are in Awka-North LGA), the person would have to go back to Awka (in Awka-South LGA), and then to Amansea, and then to Ebenebe, before he can get to Ugbene.
(That's a circular journey of about 40km).
..
..
..
3. Achalla to Ugbene, with a 50m long Bailey Bridge Across The Ezu River at Ugbene.
(Length= 13km)

**This bridge at Ugbene is the same bridge that was described in the road-number-2 above.
..
The road itself is still being put to use currently, but it is mainly being used by the pedestrians only - since vehicles can no longer ply over the damaged bridge at Ugbene.
.
At the moment, for anyone who wants to go to Ugbene from Achalla (both towns are in Awka-North LGA), the person would have to go back to Awka (in Awka-South LGA), and then to Amansea, and then to Ebenebe, before he can get to Ugbene.
(That's a circular journey of about 49km).
..
..
..
4. Awba-Ofemili To Umuerum, with Series Of Bridges and Stream-Crossings over the marshy lands and streams.
(Length= 5.5km).

..
Awba-Ofemili is a town in Awka-North LGA, whereas Umuerum is a town in Ayamelum LGA.
The road, after it had been constructed to Umuerum, can further be extended from Umuerum up to Omor.
..
At the moment, for anyone who wants to go to Umuerum from Awba-Ofemili, the person would either have to cross the Anambra State boundary with Enugu State and enter Umulokpa town in Enugu State, and travel all through Umulokpa before bursting back into Anambra State at Umumbo, and then find his way to Umuerum.
(That's a circular journey of about 51.5km)
Or, the person might have to head back to Ebenebe, and then back to Amansea, and then to Awka and Amawbia (both towns are in Awka-South LGA), then to Enugu-Agidi (in Njikoka LGA), then to Nawgu and Ukwulu (both towns are in Dunukofia LGA), then to Nando and Igbariam (in Anambra-East LGA), before entering Anaku and then to Omor (both in Ayamelum LGA), then before locating Umuerum in the hinterlands of Ayamelum LGA.
(That's a very long circular journey of about 96.5km)
..
..
These 4 roads that are listed in this thread would not only serve the people of Awka-North. It would serve a whole lot of Ndị Anambra who would want to get to Ayamelum LGA easily from Awka.
They would just follow Awka and get to Amanuke, and then cross over to Ugbene, and get themselves to Awba-Ofemili, and BINGO.!! They are already in Umuerum.
No need of going to find Anaku and Igbariam and Nando again.
For someone that is going to Ayamelum LGA from Enugu or Amansea, he doesn't even need to reach Awka and experience any serious traffic. He would just enter Amansea and reach Ebenebe, and then use the new road and come out at Mgbakwu, and then continue the journey to Amanuke through Urum. And from there, he crosses over to Ugbene and continue his journey up to Awba-Ofemili and then to Umuerum.
..
With these new roads, urbanisation would spontaneously develop along the corridors of these newly constructed roads.

For good 8 years Obiano & Apga abandoned everything that has to do with Awka north local north local govt only to come back during election period to campaign for vote . Ebenebe town whose women rejected Apc 5k on election day is the most populated town in this local government. I really hope Soludo carries Awka north along in terms of development. These people are mainly farmers, yet they are denied access to good roads which they need to transport their farm produce to Awka & neighboring towns. As for obiano & his wife a day of reckoning will surely come & they will vomit everything they stole while at agu awka..

Awka-North had been neglected for long.
It's not about Soludo., although I sincerely wish he would see this thread, and put Awka-North in his plans.
