This someone that I gave transport fare to go and meet someone he said was owning him.

He kept quizzing me on how I'm able to attract ladies despite the vaguely furnished room, I went on to tell him that girls are not my problem now. Moreover I'm not dating most of them, I run projects for people so some of them are people I'm working for.

Even though I've developed a tough skin to this kind of negative comments, I was upset though I masked my embarrassment. But why do some guys feel everything must be to impress ladies, I for one don't have time for them and I'm fully focused of sharpening my programming skills in order to get a job before the year runs out so I can renew my rent by January. For someone that was once homeless and slept in lecture halls, this my current place is like a duplex to me, and how I got this place is still a miracle to me.

Hence my question is the room really that bad? I've visited some friends and my room is nothing to write home about. Is it so bad that the guy feels I am not worthy to have a girlfriend just because of it?

Ladies can you date or marry a guy living in this kind of apartment?

You apartment is even well furnished...my wife moved in with me into a nearly empty apartment. There are virtuous women out there who are willing to support their men irrespective of where their men are starting from!

OP don't listen to anybody who tell you to buy anything, you room is so cool, atleast for a guy trying to start up, to tell you the truth, your room is even better than mine.

continue what you are doing, save, invest and give yourself a target, in years you can get better and bigger house and good home appliances and for me, that should be when I am ready to settle down.

nothing wrong the mattress. Intact I prefare sleeping on hard surface (orthopaedic material) it strengthens the body more, reseaon why people with back problems are advised to you hard mattress (orthopaedic mattress) than soft material.

Make it your new year resolution to upgrade your room. Not necessarily for girls but as an upgradd. No rush, do things as you can.

Buying a bed. Next shop for a wardrobe, no need hanging your cloths on a call. Get a small cushion or chair for visitors and even yourself to relax out of the bed. Next if you can afford it, change the painting on the wall. Think about getting a TV, though not a priority. Etc.

Nothing is wrong with the room. It's neat and organized. One that has never been homeless will never appreciate/understand. Guy this room is fine with the sharp painting and cotton that matches the paint you are good to go.
As for ladies, some will not like to date you based on the room but believe me many are out there looking for genuine/focused guys to roll with irrespective of material things.
