The amiable honourable councilor of Southern Ukanafun Ward One (Urban Ward) in Ukanafun Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State, Hon Okpongette Okorie has awarded scholarship to six students in his Ward. The six students are to be selected from the villages making up the Urban Ward. Each Village is given a slot to present one student. The scholarship is for six years from JSS1 to SSS3 in a reputable private school.
In a letter addressed to each leader of the six villages, the candidates for the scholarship were to be chosen based on merit giving priority to the indigent students. Presently, two villages, Ikot Udo Obobo and Idung Eka Uyo have nominated candidates for the offer and they (students) have resumed for the 2021/2022 academic session. The remaining four villages are yet to utilise the offer.
