The General Overseer Apostle Chibuzor is a frequent guarantor and sponsor of repentant armed robber and kidnappers. This is a very good gesture by the GO but there are negative effects and bad consequences to this.

For some years now, the OPM GO have been rehabilitating repented criminals with mouth-watering sponsorships like advanced skills acquisition programme, automatic employment while some are sent oversees for job or skills acquisition. With the level of hardship in the country i think a gesture like this will encourage most youths to deliberately go into criminal with the hope that they will have a smooth retirement from their criminal career.

This is similar to the Niger Delta amnesty programme that was initiated by late President Yar'adua which even created more militancy and armed robbery because many youths saw that as an avenue of getting their share of the national cake now it has extended to the northern part of the country where group of bandits are demanding for their share of the national cake.

Annoying enough, the good and law abiding youths are told to start a business of their own like recharge card printing, farming etc without any support while the armed robbers, kidnappers and killers are given preferential treatment and huge retirement benefits.

I think this should stop because it promotes crime rather than reducing
