Amina Yusuff, Osogbo

An Osun State police command on Monday arraigned a 22-year-old man, Mr. Yusuf Abdul Rasheed before a Magistrate Court sitting in Osogbo for alleged unlawful entry and breach of peace.

The defendant was alleged to have committed the crime on November 24 at Orisumbare, Osogbo.

The police prosecutor, Soyemi Bose told the court that the defendant entered the dwelling of one Ajibade Adegbite in a manner likely to cause breach of peace.

He went on to alleged that the offences committed by the defendant were contrary to sections 249 (D) and 411 of the criminal code cap 34 vol II laws of Osun state, 2002.

The defendant pleaded not guilty to the two count charges of unlawful entry and conduct likely to cause breach of peace.

Counsel to the defendant, Ibrahim Imran, urged the court to grant his client bail saying that bail is a constitutional right of the defendant.

The prosecutor opposed the bail saying the defendant may jump bail and thereby jeopardize the trial of the case.

However, Magistrate A. A. Adebayo, over ruled the prosecutor and granted the defendant bail in the sum of 200,000 with two sureties in like sum. Also that the defendant must produce tax clearance and a valid identity card.

He hereby adjourned the case to January 13, 2022 for hearing
