My brother you have said it all and you are very correct the reasons you highlighted is why I can never support easy and unrestricted access to guns.

Not everyone should be able to access a weapon that can kill and it is so easy to get it in America because the gun manufacturers want to make money and they lobby politicians so that they don't legislate on it's restrictions it is a terrible menace that America is not ready to deal with.

What is the purpose of fire?

The point of argument which the person I was replying to started is, which method causes more deaths. Vehicles cause a serious amount of deaths in the world.

Also, I can argue and lots of people can argue that guns have different purposes. A criminal could use it to kill or intimidate, a man can use it to scare away burglars from his home etc.
But that is not where i am heading.

My point is guns on their own don't kill people. People pick up guns to kill people or do whatever.

The main purpose of vehicles is not to kill or cause harm. Like u said people die in cars due to accidents not out of regular operation of the vehicle. A gun on d other hand has only one purpose. So this comparison doesn't hold in this case

Every single person above the age of 21 is permitted to have a license to carry. And, Michigan is an open carry state. You can carry a gun in public without a permit.

So, which legalization and blah are you talking about? Even if firearms were illegal in Michigan, if the 15 year old needs a gun to shoot up his school, he's still gon get it.

Especially In a state where semi auto are dime a dozen. (Not literally)

So, it's not about control and legalisation. Guns don't kill people, people with guns kill people.

Thank you for bringing it to my attention.

The person that typed all that is trying to make sense. But, what makes him think that anyone can have access to guns in the US? The vetting processes, serious vetting process.

Also, deaths are deaths. Trying to say that knife attacks are not as deadly as gun attacks is an insult to people who died in knife attacks.

Also, Nigeria and the US are not the same when it comes to private citizens owning guns. So bringing in Lagos is just nonsense.

Switzerland has one of the highest rates of gun ownership in the world, how many gun violence has switzerland experienced?

Instead of attacking the mediums used to perpetrate murder why not attack the root causes?

America has some seriously deep rooted issues, and owning guns is not one of them.

I can see the defence now..he did it because he was being bullied.

Right.

Even if he was being bullied surely there are ways of handling it without killing people.

Plus being bullied does not explain why he shot among other people a mother of six who is right now on a ventilator

Most of the photos are taken by news agency photographers who have better equipment than your average Nigerian newspaper.

Also schools and buildings there look nice because the US has a gdp far greater than Nigeria's , so they can make school buildings and other buildings look nice

The budget for some school districts in the USA is higher than that for many Nigerian states

There is always a price to pay for any and everything; every single decision has got a price. America would choke on it excessive freedom. Ban guns, ban guns....every American dey claim second abi na third amendment. Australia has not had a mass shooting since it banned guns in the 1990s. But in the so called “God’s own country”, it is a free for all. Freedom to carry weapons, mass shooting today, candle light session tomorrow, next day everybody moves on and a few months later another mass shooting, candle light session....repeat. Year in year out.

See as i dey look am. Na this same Michigan i lived for over 6 years. If there is a gun control law , all these shooting will reduce. The police can arrest those carrying guns around. I RAN OUT OF MY CAR ONE DAY AT A MALL BECAUSE ONE GUY WAS COMING TOWARDS ME BRANDISHING A HAND GUN NOT KNOWING HE WAS COMING TO HIM HIS CAR PARKED BESIDE MINE. I RAN AND FORGOT MY KEY INSIDE THE IGNITION. LOL.

That same boy cant been seen with cigarettes because he would be arrested but he's free to move around with ASSAULT RIFLE. LMAO Amerikka. When I'm done with making money here I'm coming back home. I'm half way there.

U can't say guns on their own don't kill people therefore gun ownership shouldn't be regulated.
Just like poisonous substances are controlled and dangerous drugs are only administered on prescription. Things like radioactive materials and nuclear substances are not left in d hands every tom n harry, (even though they have their primary functions)...why because they are dangerous to human life if misused.
Talkless of an item whose only purpose or use is to kill, maim or cause serious injury. Oga, if u r under attack and u have a gun, u will shoot the aggressor, even if he isn't coming at u with a gun. And u will call it self defence.

Bottom line is remove the guns from d society and see how these unnecessary, incessant killings will reduce. People will quarrel with mouth, highest they will do gidigbo but not with pistol. When there is no means, there will be no way.

Crumbley lives with his parents James and Jennifer in a small home in Oxford, less than two miles from where he opened fire on Tuesday, killing Tate Myre, 16, Hana St Juliana, 14, and 17-year-old Madisyn Baldwin. A fourth boy, Justin Shilling, 17, died in the hospital on Wednesday morning.

He has been charged as an adult with the following.

One count of terrorism causing death
Four counts of first-degree murder
Seven counts of assault with intent to murder
12 counts of possession of a firearm in the commission of a felony

Charges are also being considered against the parents.
