My Visit To Sokoto by Onlinefarmstore: 9:42am On Dec 05, 2021
So for sometime now I have been posting about my agricultural encounters across the length and breadth of Nigeria, in the travel section and on social media Instagram and Facebook @cheapmarketdeal

And today am in sokoto in other to document how I have been following up on Tobacco, Rice, Wheat and Garlic Farming in this Northwestern state, remember the previous visit was some months back.

So I kind of arrived sokoto aboard an aero flight, but have been too tired to write because it took me two whole days to rest, as I have been traveling the length and breath of Nigeria ( I have travelled round Nigeria twice this year alone, and 5 countries this year)

So let me give you a background to the project:

The rice farm is a 55ha project, and we aim to achieve a lot from it, and I want to also learn from the bosses in this field in the area of onions etc

So earlier today I in company of Dr Sow, of Sow Agritech visited some farms in Sokoto metropolis where they are actively preparing the land in order to cultivate weat for sales and he pointed out a lot of mistakes in which IRCDARDA told them that Nigerian farmers have done that is causing poor yield of weat in the country and what Mali did to reach optimum sufficiency and now they are talking of export.

I also had the opportunity to prepare the field for Weat, and the lining is done to act as guild in order for the already wheat seed mixed with fertilizer to placed this is done in orders make the nutrients readily available for the plants once they start to grow.

Their is another tech I saw called the pipe well, which is done in order to provide sufficient water across the farm and ensure equal amount of irrigation.

Finally arrived Arugungu and

Guess what Dr Sow was telling me?

So today we visited the 55ha farm in Kebbi precisely Arugungu where they grow over 4 different types of #rice varieties including #basmaticrice in Kebbi.

From identifying the problems of rice, to the solutions, post harvest practices #farmers need to make in

Was really an eye opener in #kebbi

(Less I forget, certified seeds are available in bulk, including paddy).
