I assure you guys that more pictures will be pasted here this evening. We are roofing the gate house now and just brought in 300 pcs of purlings to start the rafter works, I have more carpenters on site now, just pulled one guy to join them this morning.
Wow u guys R doing a gud & fast job here, kudos Spider & thanx 4 d roof plan. Pls how many guys did u need 2 complete d main house frame & in how many days altogetha

You know, this is a very large bungalow, I took the pains to measure this house today and discovered it was 73 ft lenght and 36 ft width. This house with the gate house will take us 8 days flat to finish. For a smaller roof size, we can do it for less number of days.

Just as if they read my mind, these workers are asking for drinks, they told me this work is finished and I should organise shaks for the boys, lol.

This is on contract, the type we call 'finish and go' they can work 12 hours sometimes, their contract terminates as soon as they finish this work.

We bought 30 pcs of 2x4x18 wood yesterday N730X30 =N21,900.00
We also bought 300 pcs of purlings 3x3x12 N300X300 =90,000.00 today,(shown in roof picture 3)
A bag of 4'' nail for purling N5000.00
6mm iron rope (used to tie the wood to the walls) 200x4 bundles =N800.00
Transport + loading/offloading N5500.00
Paid another advance of N10,000.00 to the carpenters   (I have paid them 60k +this 10k =70K now)

Total spent today is N133,200.00
Total for the whole roof so far is N389,100.00

The work may prolly round off by Saturday, then the aluminum phase will start.

The 150k is only for this roofing o! The nuggings are different, they will be done at the ceiling stage. The aluminum company will do the fixing, the installation is already part of the cost in the quotation I have been showing earlier. Its a big house sha.

What is the maximum guage for residential house?
