Super Falcons captain, Asisat Oshoala, has been named the best women's footballer in the CAF region by the International Federation of Football History and Statistics (IFFHS). Chiamaka Nnadozie of Nigeria was also named the best goalkeeper in the region. Here is the full list of winners in the CAF women's category. Why are strikers and midfielders always rated the best players? Does it mean that defenders are just on the pitch to add to the statistics?  The last defender FIFA recognized was Fabio Cannavaro.
