Bello also seems to have some clout in Abuja, so a request for a helicopter either from Abuja itself or from one of the military formations in the state under instructions from Abuja is something that will get easy approval. Under normal circumstance, the police also needs to own a helicopter.

The other governors too collect security votes and also complicit in the dearth of provision of security for lives and properties of their own people, but that does not justify that Bello should be commended for performing a constitutionally binding responsibility in the first instance.
