A 32-year-old Zambia woman is on the run after allegedly pouring hot cooking oil on her husband.

The suspect identified as Elizabeth Mweete poured hot oil on her husband, Mr Alex Muleya, aged 39 on Tuesday, December 28 in House number 116 Kuku Compound in Zambia were the couple live.

It was gathered that the wife poured her husband hot oil after overhearing the his phone conversation with an unknown caller that the man she was having an affair with had died.

Police has launched a manhunt for the suspect and has appealed to members of the public to report the whereabouts of the suspect to any nearest police.

Confirming the incident, Police spokesperson, Rae Hamoonga, in a media statement on Wednesday December 29, said that the victim sustained severe burns on the back, on the left side of his face and eye and is currently admitted to Chawama level one Hospital.
