I just saw a post on Facebook, lamenting at single women over 35 being stigmatised; and divorcees being ostracized.

Ladies,
It's our culture.
But it's much worse than that-
It's YOUR fault!
Or more specifically, the fault of the women who've come before you.
They listened to pastors, feminists and movies that ALL painted a rosy picture and raised your expectations to astoundingly unrealistic heights!
I mean, where's a man supposed to get money for a lavish affair, 5, FIVE YEARS after NYSC?!
Unbelievable...
Have you sat down with your parents to hear the true story of how they started out?

If you want to marry early, you MUST first understand that MOST of your parents married poor.
That hasn't changed over the ages, cos most young working men are poor.
It's the FAMILY that usually matters (which is why you sometimes hear that you're marrying into a family), but no one talks about it anymore.
And you wonder why young men now believe that, "marriage na scam"...

And then you must, due to the above, discuss bride price with your parents.
From introduction to wedding, if d budget pass 500k (for dis buhari economy?! ) you go wait taya.
And just in case you didn't know-
Most of the high-end/society weddings you see are pure "borrow pose".
Ask around.

If billionaires are getting divorced;
If men who are successful in their careers are getting divorced;
If developed nations have an over 50% divorce rate-
Then what's there to fear in sensibly managing a happy life with a man who loves you..?

So better form WhatsApp groups and start strategizing on how you'll lobby for a change in both your and your parents' mindsets.
Ask that pastor spewing trash about wealth how much was in his account when he married.
Tell feminists to give living AND successful examples of what they talk about.
Remind yourselves that 90% of those actors and actresses in the movies you love watching are-
Yes, divorced in real life.

This is truly an uphill battle that you simply CAN'T fight alone.
"Girl power" must be focused on making your WHOLE life better-
Here on Earth, not on cloud 9.
Do BETTER, for your younger ones and children.
