If you want to learn how to clean your processor the right way, you're in for a treat. The tips we give you will help you clean and remove all the dirt from your computer's CPU using ccgadgets.
When we have to change the heat sink or take care of all of our hardware, one of the most important things we need to do is clean the CPU. It's important to change the thermal paste from time to time. So, we'll show you how to clean the processor the right way, so you can do it yourself.
Tools needed.
Before we get to work, we need to gather some tools at home that are not difficult to obtain.
If you do not have the tool under discussion, read on because we suggest other alternatives.
Screwdriver
This is a classic that should never be lacking in any of the cleaning we do with any of our components because (don't ask me why) you always have to unscrew, remove, disassemble, etc. ۔
In that case, all we need is a small tipped crosshead screwdriver. We always recommend having a universal screwdriver whose tips or ends can be replaced.
If you do not have a screwdriver at home, you can use small scissors that fit the tips.
In the extreme case where the screw is not marked because it is so bad, we have to use a pliers to loosen it.
Kitchen paper or wipes
Essential for drying kitchen paper or dragging thermal paste from our chip. Any derivative is useful when we say kitchen paper, such as napkins, tissues or toilet paper. If you don't have one, use wet wipes.
Ideally, this would be one of the pads that comes with the heat sinks we buy that are best for processor cleaning. Although I've already warned you that if you don't have any of the above, you'll have to go shopping sooner or later, right?
Alcohol
We will use the common alcohol that we have in our medicine cabinets because it does not leave any residue in the processor and because it helps us to disinfect it. We will not pour this liquid directly into the heat sink, keep calm. We will mix it with the bushes to plant it in the safest way.
We warn you that alcohol is an essential and safe ingredient, so if you do not have it at home, buy a little. Water will not do well because it does not mix well with electrical components.
Bastoncillos
These pots are used to put alcohol in the processor.
As you can see, this is not a complicated process.
Thermal paste
Thermal paste is necessary to carry out the work because we need to transfer the heat from the processor to the heat sink so that the latter can blow it out with its wings.
Remember that first we are going to clean the processor and then we have to reassemble it, so we have to change the thermal paste.
Remove the heat sink.
With the tools at our disposal, start by opening the IPC case and removing the heat sink. We recommend separating the entire motherboard to make it more comfortable, but there's nothing wrong with leaving the heat sink alone and working inside the box.
Clean processor
Now it's time to clean up the processor, so we'll do it this way:
Take kitchen paper, toilet paper or napkins and pass them over the processor. Try to remove all the thermal paste. The processor must be perfectly clean. Of course you can't get rid of them all.
Take a cotton swab and insert its tip into the wine bottle. We want to moisten it, we don't want it to drip and lose everything.
Make light strokes with a broom, impregnate it with alcohol in a processor to moisten it. Then, take some paper and remove the remnants of thermal paste.
When everything is clean, pass the paper to dry it thoroughly.
If there is some thermal paste under the processor (through the pins), use the same broom very carefully to clean it.
Put thermal paste.
With everything dry and clean, we can just put the thermal paste on top. We know some of you mess up the way you apply thermal paste, but don't get me wrong: apply a dot the size of a pea or lentil.
This has proven to be the safest and cleanest way to do it, as other methods force us to spread thermal paste everywhere, although it is better to reach all cores for AMD Ryzen processors or LGA 2066 Sakita.
Install heat sink.
Carefully place the heat sink on top, we screw up as shown in the picture above so that the heat sink does not protrude out of the square and we are done.
Try to apply the heat sink carefully and carefully so that the thermal paste spreads all over the chip. It's silly, but it helps us not to go into weird things later.
Once you've installed everything in the box, turn on the PC and monitor the temperature to make sure everything is working fine.
10 minutes after we started the session:
Let it rest without doing anything.
Open some software to monitor the temperature, such as HWMonitor or programs on your motherboard.
Check that there is no sudden jump in temperature, for example, 30 to 45 degrees. The temperature should not be so high, it should be constant, unless we force it to work too hard.
The tutorial has come to an end. With these 4 steps we would have finished this little guide for cleaning the processor.
Conclusion
Knowing how to put thermal paste on a processor is just as important as knowing how to clean it with your IHS, too. It's also important to know what liquid to mix with so that it dissolves well, so that we can easily get rid of it, even if the paste is very dry.
There are a lot of isopropyl alcohols out there, so you have to be very careful with them. If you drink a lot of it, it can kill you. If you're going to be near a flame, you should keep alcohol away from it. Because it's an alcohol, the vapors can start a fire.
