Dear Gen. Abubakar Abdulsalami,

I've hitherto held you in high esteem but I'm afraid your narration as to the cause of death of Chief MKO Abiola, leaves room for doubt because of some questions that need answers.

1. When did he fall sick?

2. What manner of sickness?

3.Was it a protracted or brief illness?

4. What was his medical history?

5. Which hospital or medical doctor certified him dead?

Etc, etc, etc!

Utill you and all those who were privy to his "sickness" and subsequent death address these questions, your culpability would always remain the public perception..

Why would America wants Abiola to be kIlled?
Abdulsalm Abubakar's interest.
The international conspiracy theory had it then that Abiola was demanding for reparations fee for all the black colonised and hence debts cancellation for as reparations fee.Was the Western world ready to forgive Africa's debts at that particular time? No
Also, Abdulsalm Abubakar's percuinery interests paved the way for easy execution of Chief M. K. O. Abiola.

That was how that demented IBB was trying to rewrite the June 12 story claiming that he was forced to cancel the election.

NaijirianKing:
The problem is that the election was inconclusive and no one knows who truly won it, it was a toss up with both sides having convincing outings and both sides were strongly supported.

Unfortunately, there was also massive vote rigging on both sides, so it may have been in the best interest of the country to annul such an inconclusive election.

It would have been better for him to simply accept the results of the election officials that it was inconclusive and re-contest again to truly test popularity. A popular man doesn't fear such, a man with something to hid may.

Long story short, we should ensure that elections are never marred by fraud to the point where a whole national election can become an inconclusive exercise in futility.

Are you by any chance referring to the June 12, 1993 election?

Nailed.

Abiola was poisoned, arrangement of American Entourage and family was intended to be used as cover up.

Those who aid his killings Should not die again
eldoradoxx:
Abiola was killed by the Northern military elements (not necessarily Abdulsalam Abubakar) whom after the death of Abacha wanted to balance the power equation.
Abiola was the man that Abubakar would have handed over to should Nigeria return to democracy and the criminal elements in the military who felt that Abiola would deal with them for their role in Abacha's government snuffed life out of him and used Obasanjo to compensate the South West.

You're being sentimental. Abiola was poisoned by Northerners

NaijirianKing:
How do we know that he didn't simply pass away from of old age, he was an aged man, and had many latent illnesses that people were not aware of at the time, but more and more, day by day, people are starting to come into the real information. Abdul Salami is more informed than the average citizen, he knows what he is saying.

Everyone isn't out for evil, let's not assume that every time an elderly man passes away there was foul play.

Well planned.

He was allowed to be visited by family and the envoys JUST FOR COVER UP
panpan:
Well, this is just a theory:

In early 1998, it had been determined that for Nigeria to move on, two persons had to be put aside.

Abacha died on 8 June 1998.

There was a soft spot for Abiola.
It would have been convenient for Abiola to be out of the way; that is, for him to drop any claims on becoming president.

When Abdulsalami Abubakar became Head of State, he initially declared 7 days mourning; the next day, it was increased to 30 days.

The extension to 30 days was to give time for Abiola to make a decision.
The Commonwealth Secretary-General Emeka Anyaoku and the United Nations Secretary-General Kofi Annan both (probably at different times) paid a visit to Abiola . The purpose of each visit was to convince Abiola to drop his claims.

On 7 July 1998, Abiola (still in detention) was asked about his stand on his claim to become president. He sought advice from his closest (political) associates.
Abiola did not relinquish his claim. He died on the same day, which happened to be the last day of the 30-day mourning period.
Was this just a coincidence?

Foolish Abdusalami. You allowed all sorts of people troop in to see Abiola and he suddenly took ill. And your mind tells you nothing but this nonsense story. Infact, very foolish.

NaijirianKing:
If you take time to educate yourself, you will see the plain truth.

Unfortunately, in this part of Africa, our elections are often times marred by irregularities that cast doubt as to who actually won what and where.

The 1993 election was case and point. No one side could truly say they won as both sides claimed victory.

Logic dictates that 2 people can't simultaneously win the same contest, while both had legitimate claims.

Basically, one side didn't give up their claim of victory, while one decided to relinquish his claim and move on. See the link for yourself.

First of all, Tofa could never claim that he won. At the time counting was stopped, MKO was way ahead.

When the total votes count was leaked, it showed that MKO won close to 60% of the total vote.

However, seeing that MKO would win, some groups had 2 days earlier created some irregularities, and tried to force Iwu to postpone the election, but Iwu refused. Of course, he would later agree to, after a free and fair election had held and MKO was clearly cruising to victory.

Everything that happened was a masterstroke of IBB. It is no wonder he was called Maradona, a master dribbler.
