SYNW REGISTERS FIFTY THREE NIGERIAN FEMALE WRITERS AS MEMBERS OF IWWG The Society of Young Nigerian Writers (SYNW) under the leadership of Wole Adedoyin has registered fifty three Nigerian Female writers from Seventeen states of the federation into the International Women Writing Guild (IWWG). According to a statement issued by the National Publicity Secretary of the Society, Musa Sunusi on Friday said the Partnership between the Society of Young Nigerian Writers (SYNW) and the International Women Writing Guild (IWWG), USA is to create a uniquely ingenious, exploratory and educative platform geared towards inspiring young female writers from all parts of Nigeria in fanning their writing talents and providing opportunities for exhibiting their works. Also, to bring women writers together under a structure of mentoring and support. As evidence of registering the fifty three Nigerian female writers into IWWG as full members, a mail from the Director of IWWG, Michelle Miller partly reads “Everyone is signed up now and they will all receive individual welcome letters by email. If they wish to attend any workshops, they can email me and I will register them at no cost (so long as there is space). The International Women's Writing Guild (IWWG) was founded in 1976 by Hannelore Hahn. It is a 501(c)3 non-profit writing organization whose mission is to "empower women writers personally and professionally through writing. The IWWG has been an official Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) with special consultative status at the United Nations Economic and Social Council since 1998. Society of Young Nigerian Writers (SYNW) is a member of the International Authors Forum (IAF). It has also collaborated with different international organizations like the Alliance Francaise, 100 Thousand Poets for Change, Woman Scream International Poetry and Arts Festival and lately International Human Rights Art Festival (IHRAF). In 2019, Society of Young Nigerian Writers (SYNW) was duly acknowledged and mentioned in a book titled “TEEN LIVES AROUND THE WORLD: A GLOBAL ENCYCLOPEDIA (2 VOLUMES)” edited by Karen Wells. The Society of Young Nigerian Writers (SYNW) was described as the only teen writers’ body in Nigeria.
