Lagos is supposed to be inspecting a building under construction to ensure building standards are met. In other countries the building inspectors would be held accountable for any oversights as well as the contractor. I can bet my life the ones responsible have degrees upon degrees ..... but can't represent them. Other buildings need to be inspected... and demolished if unsafe ... beginning with the newest constructions. But then I can hear the masses protesting. Three storey building can't stand on its own.... let alone with tenants.... human traps.

We have a SON (Standards Organisation of Nigeria) in Nigeria but hardly will you find anything in Nigeria, that is not substandard.

Iron Rods made from brittle Materials, that break like Cracker Biscuits
Iron Rods with Fake sizes
Low Quality Cement
Fake Electrical Cables
Fake Toilet Fittings
Very Weak Blocks especially
Fake Paint
Lazy Artisans and their Builders/Engineers who use V;ock to supplement Concrete Pillars
Fake Everything and we expect that building will not collapse?

Go to the market and you will see all manner of fake products, from adulterated Palm Oil, Beverages with inaccurate Size/Volume-labels, etc.
Nigerians are being poisoned everyday, hence the high level of Kidney Damage and Liver disease.
Let us not even mention that of Fake Drugs, mostly by our brothers from the East.
But our Regulatory Agencies are busy collecting Bribes and ignoring these dangers.
