Between 1988 and 1991 when the Soviet Union collapsed and Russia could barely put a government together and was in total economic ruins and the United States was at its strongest (just before its misadventures in the Middle East) both economically and strategically, it did not press for a so called 'unipolar world', Is it now when it is looking more inwards that anyone should fear.

The US is doing all this just because of its commitments to Europe via NATO and no more. It is not interested in Ukraine one bit neither does it care if more territory is annexed after all Ukraine is NOT entirely friendly towards the US.
