Top investment bankers making an average of 1m /month, managers in oil companies earning $10000(5m)/month and top programmers earning $60,000/yr(30m) are choosing to leave, and you need to ask why?

1. Firstly, oil workers earning those crazy amounts live in estates with heavy guided security for fear of kidnappers which are long before bandits. So what's the essence of earning this huge amount and being enclosed.

2. Tech guys making that crazy amount are not believed these days as some go as far as stating it's yahoo and face abrupt harassment timely. So why shouldn't we leave?

3. The whole world is a system of immigration. Places like the USA, Canada are all linage traced to immigrant forms. So it's not a crime.

Of you choosing to remain in Nigeria, it's a choice. And if Japa is the goal, still go for it. Let's stop making it a big deal. Nobody owes anybody an explanation. History has shown us what patriotism means in this country.

After all, independence was a result of greed and power and not the true intent of independence. The civil war proved it, and the present-day nepotism.

You have valid reasons

Nothing honestly. Even with ten million a month I will move, it will even hasten my plans faster

You don't know what your saying bro. Even a million per month, you won't dream of traveling abroad where you don't feel free, racist everywhere, tax, no freedom of speech etc.

I have worked both in the US and now back in Nigeria, when I moved back to Nigeria in 2018, my salary was still same and believe me, I enjoyed the salary more in Nigeria than when I was outside.

By the way, I still work for the same organization and nothing except its strictly official and unavoidable, I will never wish to relocate outside

Even if you make 5 million/month in Nigeria, instead of staying, it will motivate you to leave that country.

Okay. I see lots of japa posts all over the Nigerian internet space.

Now, I'm wondering...

If you had the ability to earn whatever you wish, how much will you be earning here in Nigeria, that the thoughts of permanently relocating abroad becomes unlucrative?
Only a fool makes money and remains in Nigeria. Nigeria does not have security or healthcare, you can buy security but can you buy healthcare close to where you live?

The more money I make, the more my interest to leave increases. Of course I am not going forever, depending on how free I am, I can spend 5-20 days in Nigeria every 3 years.

Na the sweetest life be that, use bumble and codedrunz take line okala down for your time in Nigeria. Book one serviced apartment in Lekki for 3 days, fornicate, go Obudu, fornicate another 4 days there. Oya japa back to base. Na like this life in Nigeria take sweet. I know too many people who love this life.

I want to live in a sane society and have kids there. Nigeria no join, even some African countries be like Europe for where Nigeria dey.

If the wife of the president and the sons and daughters of the politicians don't live in this country.
This is to tell you that no amount of money is enough to live in Nigeria forever.
Even dangote, otedola spend like 8 months in London out of 12 months In a year so what are you telling me?

I earn about 200k (entrepreneur) per month and even though it's not enough and I'm still struggling, I've never wanted to leave the country even when I was poorer. I've never been convinced to.
I'll rather stay in my fatherland and rough it here
which business do you do

Do you have freedom of speech in Nigeria
And who said we don't pay tax in Nigeria?

Nowhere is perfect but I prefer Germany to this country.

The money will even make my japarism faster.

Everything about this fvcking country annoy me.....I want to live in a safe country where I won't have to worry much about the safety of my family. No power failure, bad roads, police harassment/brutality, kidnapping, ritual killing etc. Nigeria is cursed beyond redemption.

The wisest decision anyone can make is to get out of this country. Insecurity is alarming. Our high ranking police officers that expected to protect us are assising hushpuppies and are into drug trafficking. The next person that they want to make president was a bullion van hijacker.
Thunder will faya anybody that is incapable of solving Nigerian problems but is good at singing unity songs. sad

It’s not about the money.
It’s peace of mind
Health care
Quality of the education
You can’t even use nice cars in Nigeria with peace of mind
I have few people who earn over 2M per month but still moved from Nigeria.
It’s about peace of mind, why do you think even our Politicians own houses in Europe, Canada, USA and Dubai.
They sent their own kids over there.

I saw Thomas Muller, Neuer and all Bayern players every week in shopping malls without securities or people moving out of the way for them.
Millionaires here, drive theirselves around.

You missed the question completely, i dont know why youre this angry, but i hope you find peace within.

I know an investment banker that returned back to Nigeria after moving to Canada within 2 years- he claimed they were underpaying him, plus life there is expensive when he tried to match the opulence he was enjoying here (driver, cars, nanny, subscription to clubs, low tax).... weird abi? lol

well, i know people- tech guys close to me- close family, that currently run remote work, they have been given the opportunity to move to the country that the job is and they refused- they're earning hard currency here, giving the shht exhange of naira, why will they bouge?

I also know a former colleague that was given a deadline to move to his company in Russia or risk losing the job, baba resign,

So these things as you said are opinionated, so just take am easy abeg.

As for me, moving is never abt the money o....its peace of mind, because I cant see police for junction in the middle of the night and my mind go dey caught like arm rubber lol
