Note that the choice to choose between obedience and rebellion didn't make Adam imperfect. NO!
He chose his own path.
What does perfection means?
It doesn't mean infallible but the perfect body that can do everything without a single defect but that doesn't mean such a person can't choose between right and wrong.

Adam choose to become a rebel and that's why a curse was laid on him by his Creator, it's this curse that brought all the defects which later led to Adam's oldage, sickness and death.
Ever since then all the children that comes out from Adam has inherited those three things:
OLDAGE
SICKNESS
DEATH.
Now due to these defects Adam's descendants had no option than to restrict all their plan within their lifespan, that's why greed and selfishness set in otherwise most humans would have been nice people if there's nothing like oldage, sickness and death.
So it's the defect that we call imperfection not the ability to choose between right and wrong!
