I totally disagree with you, Airtel is just useless on its own.
First i thought it was me cause I am using Airtel line on my iphone every time I subscribe like two weeks or a month plan the next day there won't be any data anymore. I called them they but as usual they keep blabbing .

Download the glasswire app, and check your data usage. You'll surely find the app responsible for the high usage of your data and block the app. I was having same issues until i did same thing and solved the problem. In my case it was this Google app.

Please I'm facing similar problems. I also use smart 5, this morning I woke and realized that I've used 2.8gb of airtel data bundle, I nearly cried. I checked my data manager trying to find what caused the issue but the data I'm seeing doesn't correspond. This is the 2nd time this thing is happening to me. Infact I always make it a point of duty to always switch from 4g to 3g before I go to bed. Here is a screenshot of the data manager of both the system apps and normal Apps breakdown

Follow my instructions that you quoted. Download the app, give it permission and you'll see the app that's sucking your data, click on the app and block it.
