King Edric married three wives and had two children, the first wife bore him a son, the second had a daughter for him but the last wife had none.
The town had three seers with apprentices, one for the king and his household. Although Kings from different towns, villages also come to him(The king seer) but it is strictly for Royalty. So his title was The Royal seer. The other seers were the fountain seers which are the seers only for the people and they all have apprentices. These apprentices were the ones born with the gift. Fountain seers was a title given to the seers of the people and it was headed by two people called Edgar and Jerrick and these two have apprentices. The fountain seers were strictly for the people.
According to the custom of that land, The Royal seer must foretell what will happen to that land starting from the day after the king's birthday(that is, the next day) till his next birthday and if there would be sacrifices to be made, or war, or warnings, and it is usually on that day and the king must give a new rule. The fountain seers are strictly for the people, they foretell things to the people, so they call out names randomly and tell them things that will happen to them in the future. So if there be any sacrifice, warnings or anything that needed to be done, they'd be told. Most of the people always wished their names are called, but not all names are usually called, only the people they see in their visions they call, and it's usually few people. After that, the three seers and their apprentices would pray for the king, his household and the people. (This had been the custom from the beginning; that is, even the past kings did the same as this was their culture)
The time came for the king to celebrate his birthday.
A day before the king's birthday, while the Royal seer was preparing for the celebration with the fountain seers , a messanger came and told the Royal seer at his house that his mother had died. As the firstborn and only child, he had to be there to pay his last respect and for proper burial. They were all sorry for him, he told them to continue with the preparation, that he would need to see the king urgently. With so much grief, he rushed down to the palace to tell it to the king. He got to the palace and explained to the king then asked for permission, so he could go and bury his mother, the king was sorry but he refused to let him go.
He strictly commanded him not to go because he had to be there on his birthday, and it's a must because according to the custom of the land he has to foretell what will happen from the day after his birthday till the next, and it is usually done on the king's birthday by the Royal seer. The king reminded him that.
This didn't go well with the king's seer, he pleaded for hours but the king refused, the king told him to send one or two of his apprentices instead to represent him, but the seer said he can't do that because he is the only child of his parents, he further explained that he didn't know his father, because he died the day he was born as he was told by his mother and so he wouldn't want anybody to bury his mother except him and moreover, his mother had told him during his last visit that she doesn't want to be Embalmed when she dies and that she would love to be buried on her newly bought land. He promised to be back early the next day to meet up with the celebration. The king told him he understood what he said but still insisted no permission.

The land of the seers Chapter 2.

The King left him and went to his room. The seer then sent for the queen, his daughter, the third wife of the king who was barren.
When she came, her father's expression already passed a message to her that something was wrong. The man told her they needed to talk outside privately. They both went out, she signaled to her escorts to stay far from them which they did. So they moved a bit far from them. She asked what happened and why he had a sad expression on. He explained everything that happened. She cried aloud because she loved her grandma so dearly. Her father consoled her and she promised to convince the king and will feed him back before evening. They hugged each other and she asked of his well being, he answered that he is in good state then her father congratulated her. She wasn't too surprised because her father is a seer but she wanted to tell him first. Her Father encouraged her and told her it was going to be a twin; two male and warned her not to disclose the gender even to the king. She was so happy and hugged his father again, she explained she knew about her pregnancy the previous day but she wasn't sure, so she decided to go to the midwife the next day for examination and she did confirm it when she went, and it wasn't too long she came back that she was sent for. They conversed for a while and she promised to convince the king and feed him back before evening.

The king and his household got to know about the pregnancy and they rejoiced but she didn't disclose the gender as instructed. The king asked how she knew she was pregnant since she had none before, then she explained of how she had been feeling and had gone to the midwife for examination.
She thought she could convince the king to letting her father go, she tried her best but the king was obstinate. She did all she could, but the king would not listen. So as promised, she sent to her father in a parable through one of her escorts that, he didn't agree despite all she did and more reason why she sent to him late. By the time she sent back to her father, it was already very late at night.
When the messanger came back, She asked if her father said anything and she answered that he never said a word.
She became restless because she understood her father's silence, that he might be up to something. While thinking in her room and thinking of what else she could do, the king sent for her to spend the night in his room.

(The king's birthday)
On the king's birthday, all the people were gathered at the king's hall, the invited kings and their wives, chiefs, and all that were invited were sitted. It was an elaborated party and the hall was filled with great numbers of people. Different sets of people were performing and entertaining the people. While this was going on, king Edric's third wife, Kate, became restless on the sit, because the king would soon be out to sit on the throne. She was looking around for her father but couldn't find him, she knew he was up to something when he gave no response.
As thought were flowing in to her heart, the eldest wife, June by name, tap her and asked if she was okay. With a smile she told her that she was good and nothing to worry about. June asked if she had seen her father because she(june)had not seen him and he isn't amongst other seers as well. Kate's heart started pounding so fast when she was asked this question, but she tried to calm herself down so that it won't be obvious. She then answered and said, he would probably be with the king. The second wife, Briana by name, heard when she said, he would probably be with the king, she then responded and said, she went to the king two minutes back and he was alone, infact ready to come out. When Kate heard this, she was completely speechless. She was thinking of what to say, when she heard a great shout. The King finally came out. She almost fell from the chair but she quickly comported herself with a smile so it wasn't too obvious but one of the fountain seers' eyes met with hers and he signaled to her to calm down.
Everybody stood up to honour the king, he thank them for their love, their support and thanked all those he invited and all other guests. The people rejoiced, clapped, sang for him and he danced with happiness. After that, the people waited for him to sit, then he sat comfortably on his throne, and he told them to sit and continue with what they were doing, so they continued.
Kate started sweating profusely, she didn't know what to do.
The king noticed the Royal seer was not in the their midst, so he signaled to Edgar, one of the fountain seers. When he moved close to him, the king whispered to one of his ears and asked of the Royal seer. He told him he might be probably held back by some things needed for the celebration, that he shouldn't worry. Few hours later, The Royal seer still didn't show up, the king called Edgar again but this time, he told him to send one of their apprentices to tell him to come immediately to the palace that the time is already fast spent. Edgar did according to the king's order but whispered to another apprentice to tell Kate that, her Father will not come back that day because it would rain in few minutes time and this will hold him back, also, she should prepare because her entire family is about to be wiped out. He gave her description of where she'd run to and told her not worry that he would make provisions for her but must leave immediately.
The apprentice did as he was told, when Kate heard, she was perplexed. She nodded where she was, to indicate she understood everything he said. She was sitting next to the king, she gently tap the king, whisper to his ear that she needed to ease herself, then he told her to go. Immediately she stepped inside, the clouds started gathering and it was about to rain, the people didn't bother but were rather happy.

Kate hasten to pack few clothes and other few things in a small but not too small box. when she finished, she shut the door behind her and was about to leave when the prince saw her. She almost fainted, they faced each other and they were looking at each other then she told him she was going to present a birthday gift to the king, although he didn't ask her any question, she said that out of fear. He fixed his eyes on the box and asked her why she was telling him that. She told him, she wanted to surprise the king with the gifts inside the box and she doesn't want him to tell the king. He didn't understand what she was saying cos her explanation does not make sense to him, he just shook his head in disgust and left her. (Although he hated Kate, but Kate didn't let that bother her, she loved every member of the Royal family.) She waited for him to go out and immediately he stepped out, she ran outside, then it started raining heavily.
With box in her right hand, she off her footwear and ran as fast as she could into the thick forest.
The king expected the apprentice he sent but didn't see him so he presumed the rain had kept him because it was indeed a heavy rain, so he waited patiently for the rain to stop. After few hours, the rain stopped. The people started presenting gifts to the king, his wives did, guests, the seers also presented gifts...while this was going on, Freddie the prince and Adele the princess, also presented their gifts but Freddie kept wondering where Kate could be since she told him she wanted to present gifts to the king. While the presentation of gifts was still going on, the apprentice came, although he knew(the apprentice) that the Royal seer had travel with the messenger late the previous night, but they all pretended as if they were not aware he travelled and were ready to defend themselves.
When the apprentice came, he told the king he couldn't find him, then the king became extremely angry, he called Edgar and Jerrick privately and asked them what was going on. Jerrick told him they were surprised as he didn't tell them he would be coming late.
Then the king asked when last they saw him, and they answered that after the preparation for the celebration had ended the previous night they all went to their various homes, and that morning, he sent to them through one of his apprentices that they should go ahead that he would meet them at the palace. They further Explained that he never told them he would come late.
The king became impatient as it was time to Foretell things. The king told the Fountain seers to continue, with theirs. The people were surprised because it had always been the Royal seer first before the Fountain seers, then it became so obvious that the Royal seer was not in their midst.
The fountain seers started calling people and foretelling things....

Chapter 6

Indeed the rain held him back(the Royal seer), as soon as the rain stopped, he hasten his steps as fast as he could to meet up with the celebration, then he suddenly stopped because he saw in a vision that a beast was near, just as he was about to turn to take another route, he saw the beast not too far from from where he was, then he ran and took the route that led to the thick forest instead, when the beast saw him, it ran after him. He ran as fast as he could. When he got to the thick forest, he noticed the beast had stopped following him. Then he rested under a tree. While resting he saw the back of a woman resembling his daughter's figure from afar. He called out her name to be sure and when she heard her father's voice she looked towards where the voice came from, and started coming towards him, unknowingly that his voice alerted the beast of their direction as it had lost contact with him. As she walk towards him, the beast came and ran after her, when she saw the beast running towards her, she ran but because she was already tired, being a pregnant woman she didn't have the strength to run well, her father who was already running towards her didn't meet her before she fainted, the beast saw it as an opportunity to eat her up, then he heard a gun shot. Someone unknown shot the beast. When he finally came to where his daughter was, he wanted to carry his daughter, then the hunter that shot the beast also came. When the hunter saw the man, he asked who he was and he answered that he is the father of the lady that had fainted. The hunter laughed and said he did not believe him, the seer was not really concerned about his disbelief but after the revival of his daughter. He asked the hunter if he had any water, but he told him instead to tell the truth, else he would accuse him of wanting to Kidnap the lady. The seer became angry and yelled at him that she needs to be revived, as she is his only daughter. The hunter quickly ran to where he rested earlier before he saw the beast to get the water he brought from home and offered it to him. He told the hunter to get a particular leaf, but he couldn't get the leaf on time, when he finally did, he collected it from the hunter, squeezed it and put them close to her nose and then poured water on her legs and head then he hold her hands and told the hunter to blow air on her. He closed his eyes to see what was happening, and he saw that she opened her eyes but didn't have enough strength and that, where they were is a very dangerous place (he knew is safe only during the day but not at night) and if they stay there till late in the night they will not survive it, and also he saw a cave.
When he opened his eyes he told the hunter what he saw and he was amazed, then, he realized who he was that he had come from the land of the seers but he told him he doesn't understand what he meant by cave. This time the night was already approaching. The hunter apologized for earlier and confirmed that they will not truly survive that land if they stay till night. He told him the forest is only safe during the day, and one of the routes you can go through to the land of the seers and that he had finished hunting and wanted to rest and then head to her cousin's place as his place is far when he sighted the the beast. The hunter told him they could stay till the next day at his cousin's house. As they were about to leave she opened her eyes (the squeezed leaf placed on her nose caused her to sneeze) but was too weak to walk then the hunter put her on his back seeing that she was too weak to walk. The hunter and the seer continued walking and he (the hunter) led them through a shortcut, as they walked through the shortcut it began to get darker. Then Kate told the hunter to put her down as it is getting dark and she would like to walk. The hunter tried to convince her because he knew their journey would be slow since she doesn't have enough strength and moreover they need to get out of the forest as quick as possible if she wants them alive but she insisted. Her father then told her he would back her instead but she refused saying she doesn't want to burden anybody. As predicted, she couldn't walk fast though she tried to walk fast but she was just too weak. It started getting darker and darker and they couldn't see well, suddenly Kate told them that her eyes were turning her and she needs to drink water. The hunter responded and told her that they can't get water, she should exercise patience as they will soon get to the village. Then she asked them to wait that she needed to rest a little. The Father closed his eyes to see if he could get water anywhere, but he saw something else....
