Due to the incessant downward spiral of the Nigerian economy, widespread unemployment, and the deteriorating moral values observed among the present generation of young individuals, a significant number of women aged 15 to 29, including university students, have resorted to engaging in prostitution or employing the euphemistic term "Hookup" in order to achieve self-sufficiency or indulge in extravagant and luxurious lifestyles.

In Nigeria, the predominant form of sex work takes place within brothels or the residences of sex workers. However, there is a growing trend among young students and unemployed graduates who turn to sex work as a means of income, assuming roles such as part-time prostitutes, call girls, or occasionally referred to as Aristo girls. These young graduates and students adopt different strategies, relying on pimps, call-ups, or even frequenting bars and restaurants.

Even within educational institutions, these women offer themselves to lecturers in exchange for grades, displaying a lack of willingness to exert effort in order to achieve academic excellence. Similar scenarios unfold within workplaces. Many married women have ended their marriages because they find another man who can financially support their desired lifestyle.

The proliferation of social media has exacerbated the situation by promoting various forms of immorality. There is an inherent desire to belong, where individuals seek to replicate the possessions of their peers, such as owning an iPhone or possessing bone-straight hair. Consequently, they feel compelled to find a partner who can provide them with similar luxuries.

Furthermore, even parents, particularly mothers, instruct their daughters on strategies to extract money from multiple men and maintain multiple relationships. Some even prefer to date married men under the assumption that they are financially stable, which sometimes leads them to engage in unscrupulous practices.

My advice to parents is to exert tremendous effort in providing for their children. Nurturing them with strong religious values and maintaining open and regular communication with them, akin to being friends, is crucial. Many of those who eventually succumb to these illegal activities were influenced by their peers. Therefore, it is essential to understand the nature of their social circles and acquaintances.

My only problem is that innocent young men will later move heaven and earth just to keep the wh0res in matrimony which includes disturbing our peace

Unknown to them, the street in them wh0res will never die. Poor men.

Nothing can be done even in 200 millions years to prostitution.

It is the oldest profession in the history of mankind

Know this. Know peace

Don't blame the girls. Blame the home they come from and the crooked society.

When the going gets tough, the tough gets going. The youths are only responding to this philosophy. grin
