One funny thing about this charger is that it hardly burn unlike the ones you buy in the market. You can use it till you are tired
Yeah, it's very rugged but the main problem is that it emits a lot of heat. The 7815 ic regulator needs a standard heatsink

that's brightens inverter

Very nice. But most phones rely on smps and buck converters (power banks) for charging phones these days. This may not be safe for high end phones.

If you keep doing your research I believe you will be able to improve on this.

Well done.

Mediocrity can not pass for invention. Not in this age. Finish work on it before talking about banning. Don't be like Buhari who banned rice only to feed us with stones and rubbish rice. You must be the mannequins' supporter

I don't think there is anything extraordinary here. This is a simple bridge rectifier and linear regulator, probably 7805. Most chargers use smps (dc- high frequency ac- dc) the regulation is done with the aid of feedback loop

Components used for this project includes
.
1) 240v (9-0-9) transformer
2) 4 Diodes (no unit)
3) 1k/25v capacitor
4) 7805 transistor (regulator)
5) 0.1/25v capacitor
6) light emitting diodes (led)
7) USB port
cool a connection board
.
I first of all connected my four diodes in series, then my 1k/25v capacitor followed by transistor, 0.1/25v capacitor, light emitting diodes, USB port then my 240v transformer on the connection board, I read it with my meter and it gave me exactly 5v.

How do rate this my small project?

You omitted something very important. How much did it cost you to build?

in fact that is what I am trying to build, in my next project.

Well done bro.

You can improve gradually to systems like automatic light switches with PIR sensors, remote start/stop switches for generators, automatic outdoor lightings etc. Then you can commercialise your brand to your neighbourhood and beyond.

Bro you tried but from my observation, this charger will hardly give charge to your device. If it manages, it will take longer time. What you did was just to take 9V AC from the transformer, changed it to DC using those diodes. Then you stepped down the 9V to 5V using the 7805 transistor. You will need physics to get amp.. At least 2A will do. Nice one.

If my knowledge of physic is correct, the load will draw as much current as it needs, assuming it's a purely resistive load, depending on the rating. The issue there is that the 7805 ic can only handle, I believe 1.5 amps

Bro smps design hard oh. I have bee trying to design a sepic converter. I just downloaded power supply cookbook and many other books, recently I've decided to leave that and focus on embedded systems design with pic microcontrollers using CCS c compiler. My only problem now is time. I do three jobs
