A breath of fresh air is here to chart a new direction in selfless service delivery for the people of Anambra Central Senatorial Zone.

Dr Chinedu Anthony Umeadi is an accomplished Canadian based Medical Doctor whose experience in medical practice, leadership management, research, mentorship and service development belies his young and ebullient age .

The 1975 born medical practitioner who hails from Abagana in Njikoka Local Government Area of Anambra State is the first child in the family of five, born to Late Anthony Nwafor Umeadi: a renowned pharmacist and Mrs Catherine Ifeyinwa Umeadi ;A retired teacher.

Young and ebullient Chinedu (whose intimidating educational credentials as well as his well travelled forays to several countries in search of knowledge acquisition, has now equipped him to give back to his people), is here to answer the clarion call and contribute his quota in delivering the dividends of democracy to our people.

On what propelled his decision to throw his hat in the ring:
_"I am in the race to chart a new direction for our people. I want a platform that will enable me touch lives on a much bigger scale than I am currently doing. I believe that having received so much blessings from God, the time has come for me to give back to the society and change the face of representation in my senatorial zone"_;

Young Chinedu, who was given the title of Agunechemba 1, has been deeply involved in charity works which he coordinates through his foundation, the Dr Chinedu Umeadi Foundation which has been giving out scholarships to students in secondary schools and universities as well as providing education materials/equipments for schools. The foundation has also been deeply involved in organising periodic medical outreaches, supporting less privileged people including the disabled, mentoring young professionals, among other interventions.

Young Dr Chinedu Umeadi has been an adept proponent of human and organisational capacity building and has played active roles in developmental projects in the surrounding communities around him.

Dr Umeadi has amassed awards and recognitions for excellence and dedication to duty over the course of his career as a consultant in mental health, forensic medical examiner, public health specialist, researcher ,lecturer and administrator .

His charity works have not gone unrecognised as he has also on several occasions been the recipient of awards and honors from several organisations including higher institutions, religious organisations, communities and government establishments.

Dr Anthony Chinedu Umeadi was installed as a high chief with the title "Agunechemba 1 of Abagana" by the Abagana community in December, 2019 in recognition of his services to humanity and involvement in community development

Dr Umeadi who is a fellow of the Royal College of Psychiatrists, UK (an honour given to him as a mark of distinction and in recognition of his contribution to psychiatry over a ten year period), is the most prepared for the job and has brought with him a rich resume and the zeal to make the difference and replicate in Anambra central, some of the lofty ideas he has been exposed to as a result of his numerous forays in different institutions and citadels of learning in several countries visited before settling down in Canada to practice Medicine
