US/NATO Vs Russia : Outcome Of Foreign Military Intervention by HornyTave: 1:51am On Apr 11, 2022
The United States and NATO And Russia had been involved in direct foreign military confrontation over time, and I'll be analysing their success rate in each countries, so you be the judge who had been a better military bloc.
I'll be using
1. Economy of each military bloc
2. Military budget of each bloc
3. Size of population and land mass of each bloc.
4. Size, population and economy of the Attacked State.
5. Size of Military of The Attacked States.

Now the United States and NATO has invaded Afghanistan, Vietnam and Syria while Russia has invaded Ukraine ( USSR invasion of Afghanistan is not a Russian affair)

1. The US/NATO controls 21% of the world's economy with a staggering 18.4 Trillion USD. https://www.nationmaster.com/country-info/groups/NATO-countries
While Russia's GDP is 1.72 Trillion USD https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Economy_of_Russia
This means US/NATO is 10.8 times richer than Russia with a higher purchasing power.

2. The US/NATO has a total defense spending of 1.2 Trillion USD as of 2021 https://www.visualcapitalist.com/this-is-how-much-nato-countries-spend-on-defense/ this is more than 40% of world's defense budget, while Russia spent 61.2 billion USD in 2020. Do the maths and see who gets more shining weaponry.

3. The US/NATO has a combined population of 604 million people ( 8% of world's population ) and land mass of 13.6 million SqKM, that's 10% of world's land mass. Let me be literal, go to your fathers land in the village or your backyard, 1 in every 10 feet you measure belongs to NATO. https://www.nationmaster.com/country-info/groups/NATO-countries
Massive right? Russia has a population of 145 million people, in fact, nigeria has more population than Russia and land mass 17 million SqKM. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Russia

4.
A. Vietnam - America War was a 20 yrs long war with US direct involvement. Practically it was North Vietnam, with a population of 15 million people, with GDP of 4 million US dollar and area of about 157 SqKM (not bigger than Niger, Borno and Edo State combined - vs Southern Vietnam with their principal ally, the United States with a much larger population, GDP and Land mass as at 1960's. Also to say, it cost US tax payers more than 168 billion USD ( 1 trillion USD in today's money ) yet they lost.
Not to go into details of US horrible defeat, I'll leave you this link https://www.history.com/.amp/topics/vietnam-war/vietnam-war-history https://www.thebalance.com/vietnam-war-facts-definition-costs-and-timeline-4154921

B. US involvement in Afghanistan, dates back to 1980s when they created Islamic extremists out of Afghans to fight the USSR (they felt extremist are more difficult to defeat due to radicalisation of the mind. - same thing they did in Syria when they created the ISIS to oust Bashir Al-Assad). US defeats in Afghanistan was also a horrible defeat, what makes the defeat more interesting than that of Viet Conf was not the years of Direct military operation ( also 20 yrs if you ask me ) but unlike Viet Cong, they and another 29 countries were defeated by long beards, kaftan wearing mullahs with 4×4 hillux trucks and AK 47 rifles. Also they spent 1 to 2 trillion USD in that war, not to bore you, I give you these 2 links https://www.cfr.org/timeline/us-war-afghanistan
https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-47391821.amp
Taliban net worth would shoke you so I'd rather you read up yourself https://caknowledge.com/taliban-net-worth/

C. Syria. In 2014 The US and NATO actively supported rebels and anti government forces with Lethal weapons and training snd direct involvement in to oust Bashir Al Assad https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Foreign_involvement_in_the_Syrian_civil_war while Russia acted in favour of Al Assad. 7 years later of direct involvement by US/Nato to oust Bashir Al Assad, He is still president, all thanks to Russia and Iran. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/American-led_intervention_in_the_Syrian_civil_war
Funny enough the US and Allies has spent a staggering 1.2 Trillion in Syria and has been unsuccessful.
https://www.wvi.org/newsroom/syria-crisis-response/ten-years-war-syria-has-cost-12-trillion-usd-according-world-vision
Now it's worthy to note, Syria has an economy of 50 billion USD, and population of 17 million, land mass of 185 SqKM and the US/NATO were incapable after 10 yrs to oust Bashir Al Assad.
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Syria

D. Ukraine.
Ukraine has a land mass of 603 SqKM, a population of 41 million and GDP of 181 billion USD https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ukraine.
Ukraine has a military budget of 4.3 billion USD, https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Armed_Forces_of_Ukraine
Russia invaded Ukraine in late February With aim to demilitarized Ukraine, make it non functional and oust Ukrainians government. I think Putin is achieving a. Demilitarizing Ukraine and sending their Infrastructures to stone age. Up till now, Putin has failed to oust The Ukrainians government - he's unlikely to achieve this, near impossible but nothing is impossible.

It's worthy note, Russia is not only fighting Ukraine but the West and NATO. US/NATO has sent military and monies to Ukraine to continue the war, more like, all for One vs One. https://www.google.com/amp/s/punchng.com/full-list-15-countries-sending-arms-to-ukraine-since-russias-invasion/%3famp https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.aljazeera.com/amp/news/2022/2/28/which-countries-are-sending-military-aid-to-ukraine
Russia economies has faced multiple sanctions, even sport yet they are still in control of 10+ Ukrainian cities in a month and 2 weeks. That's commendable.
