Cheat tip : when you are overwhelmed climb a ladder and stay onn the middle rungs ...there is no animation for enemies to attack you . They will just pass through you.

I tried playing bloodborne didn't get far at all ....I didn't even get to meet the first Boss .

It was very confusing as I didn't know what I supposed to do ...no tutorials nothing . Just figure it out by dying . My brother got down from the first building you get out of , out into the street below . There was this procession of goons about four of them ...couldn't get past them . Promptly gave up .
