In Mark 2, where Jesus is confronted by the Pharisees because his disciples had been walking through a grain field, eating the grain on the Sabbath. Jesus wants to show the Pharisees that “Sabbath was made for humans, not humans for the Sabbath” and so reminds them of what the great King David had done when he and his men were hungry, how they went into the Temple “when Abiathar was the high priest” and ate the show bread, which was only for the priests to eat.

One of the well-known problems of the passage is that when one looks at the Old Testament passage that Jesus is citing (1 Sam. 21:1–6), it turns out that David did this not when Abiathar was the high priest, but, in fact, when Abiathar’s father Ahimelech was. In other words, this is one of those passages that have been pointed to in order to show that the Bible is not inerrant at all but contains mistakes.

1 Samuel 22:18-23
[18]And the king said to Doeg, Turn thou, and fall upon the priests. And Doeg the Edomite turned, and he fell upon the priests, and slew on that day fourscore and five persons that did wear a linen ephod.
[19]And Nob, the city of the priests, smote he with the edge of the sword, both men and women, children and sucklings, and oxen, and asses, and sheep, with the edge of the sword.
[20]And one of the sons of Ahimelech the son of Ahitub, named Abiathar, escaped, and fled after David.
[21]And Abiathar shewed David that Saul had slain the LORD'S priests.
[22]And David said unto Abiathar, I knew it that day, when Doeg the Edomite was there, that he would surely tell Saul: I have occasioned the death of all the persons of thy father's house.

[23]Abide thou with me, fear not: for he that seeketh my life seeketh thy life: but with me thou shalt be in safeguard.

Looking at the verses above, Jesus Christ could have been referring to the "days of Abiathar" because he was to become the next high priest after the death of his father, Ahimelech according to the Aaronic tradition. By default, he was the high priest since his father was slain by Saul's men. Therefore, "in the days of Abiathar" is customarily not an error here.

It does not Invalidate my argument for I clearly requested "Is there "Low Priest"?

And you have only supplied that there is high priest, which is not an Office created by God, but a recognition of God that in the affairs of men, some certain person must be in lead of the priests, as Aaron, the first priest was, to his children following.

As shown by the opening of your Leviticus 21:1 "And The Lord Said unto Moses, Speak unto the preists the sons of Aaron,..."

I stand to be corrected but clearly, The Law did not create the office of High Priest as seen in Exodus 28.

That God is the "Most High" doesn't mean there are other gods that are high (no god besides Jehovah) ; that Jehovah is just the Most High amongst them. There's no "low priest" per se, but the high priest is first in rank. Hebrews 6, 8, 9 and 10 affirm Jesus Christ as our High Priest of the New Covenant, not the apostles. For instance, But Christ being come an high priest of good things to come, by a greater and more perfect tabernacle, not made with hands, that is to say, not of this building Hebrews 9:11 KJV
Whither the forerunner is for us entered, even Jesus, made an high priest for ever after the order of Melchisedec. -Hebrews 6:20 KJV

There are some certain things normal priests could not dare to do in the old testament (in fact, that we the new covenant priests (1 Peter 2:9) can't still do except Jesus Christ our High Priest: like dying for total cleansing of sins with His most precious blood, not the covering of sins like in the old covenant by animal blood).

And you have only supplied that there is high priest, which is not an Office created by God, but a recognition of God that in the affairs of men, some certain person must be in lead of the priests, as Aaron, the first priest was, to his children following.
God Himself instituted the office of the high priest. He instructed that the first son of the high priest becomes the next high priest for perpetuity. It's not by voting of men. The office was an ordinance of God.

As shown by the opening of your Leviticus 21:1 "And The Lord Said unto Moses, Speak unto the preists the sons of Aaron,..."

I stand to be corrected but clearly, The Law did not create the office of High Priest as seen in Exodus 28.

FROM AMONG the Israelites take your brother Aaron and his sons with him, that he may minister to Me in the priest's office, even Aaron, Nadab and Abihu, Eleazar and Ithamar, Aaron's sons. And you shall make for Aaron your brother sacred garments [appointed official dress set apart for special holy services] for honor and for beauty. Tell all who are expert, whom I have endowed with skill and good judgment, that they shall make Aaron's garments to sanctify him for My priesthood. They shall make these garments: a breastplate, an ephod [a distinctive vestment to which the breastplate was to be attached], a robe, long and sleeved tunic of checkerwork, a turban, and a sash or band. They shall make sacred garments for Aaron your brother and his sons to minister to Me in the priest's office. They shall receive [from the people] and use gold, and blue, purple, and scarlet [stuff], and fine linen. And they shall make the ephod of gold, of blue, purple, and scarlet [stuff], and fine twined linen, skillfully woven and worked. It shall have two shoulder straps to join the two [back and front] edges, that it may be held together. The skillfully woven girding band which is on the ephod shall be made of the same, of gold, blue, purple, and scarlet [stuff], and fine twined linen. And you shall take two onyx or beryl stones and engrave on them the names of the twelve sons of Israel; Six of their names on one stone and the six names of the rest on the other stone, arranged in order of their birth. With the work of a stone engraver, like the engravings of a signet, you shall engrave the two stones according to the names of the sons of Israel. You shall have them set in sockets or rosettes of gold. And you shall put the two stones upon the [two] shoulder straps of the ephod [of the high priest] as memorial stones for Israel; and Aaron shall bear their names upon his two shoulders as a memorial before the Lord. So Aaron shall bear the names of the sons of Israel in the breastplate of judgment upon his heart when he goes into the Holy Place, to bring them in continual remembrance before the Lord. In the breastplate of judgment you shall put the Urim and the Thummim [unspecified articles used when the high priest asked God's counsel for all Israel]; they shall be upon Aaron's heart when he goes in before the Lord, and Aaron shall bear the judgment (rights, judicial decisions) of the Israelites upon his heart before the Lord continually. Make the robe [to be worn beneath] the ephod all of blue. There shall be a hole in the center of it [to slip over the head], with a binding of woven work around the hole, like the opening in a coat of mail or a garment, that it may not fray or tear. And you shall make pomegranates of blue, purple, and scarlet [stuff] around about its skirts, with gold bells between them; A gold bell and a pomegranate, a gold bell and a pomegranate, round about on the skirts of the robe. Aaron shall wear the robe when he ministers, and its sound shall be heard when he goes [alone] into the Holy of Holies before the Lord and when he comes out, lest he die there. And you shall make a plate of pure gold and engrave on it, like the engravings of a signet, holy to the Lord. [Exod. 39:30.] You shall fasten it on the front of the turban with a blue cord. It shall be upon Aaron's forehead, that Aaron may take upon himself and bear [any] iniquity [connected with] the holy things which the Israelites shall give and dedicate; and it shall always be upon his forehead, that they may be accepted before the Lord [in the priest's person]. [Luke 24:44; Heb. 8:1, 2.] And you shall weave the long and sleeved tunic of checkerwork of fine linen or silk and make a turban of fine linen or silk; and you shall make a girdle, the work of the embroiderer. For Aaron's sons you shall make long and sleeved tunics and belts or sashes and caps, for glory and honor and beauty.
Exodus 28:1‭-‬12‭, ‬29‭-‬40 AMPC

If you checked the context of the bolded parts and more from the passage above and different versions, you'd have a better understanding of the place of a high priest amongst priests of the LORD as Jehovah instructed Moses herein.
Aaron was the first high priest. His sons were the first set of priests in the Aaronic order.

For you to properly understand the essence of the shadows of OT, check the parallels in the substance in the NT perhaps with the aid of multi-version Bible, and of course, the Holy Spirit of God.

Wow, all these lengthy thing because of high/low priests?

It's not necessary na!

Rayom:

There's no "low priest per se", but the high priest is first in rank.

"There's no "low priest per se" is enough for me.

Rayom:

There are some certain things normal priests could not dare to do in the old testament

This is not correct. All that is required of any of them is due compliance with The Law of Consecration and The Law of Service to The Lord, lest they be slain as Nadab and Abihu, who did not serve The Lord in compliance with The Law.

I was going to ask where is this provided in the Bible and thank you for the correction, only to see that you cited the same Exodus 28 and Haba, you added "of the high priest" as though it was part of God's Statement, when in Truth, He did not say such at all.

High priesthood was hereditary until the second century. Not just any priest could become the high priest. The aforementioned requirements you listed were for all priests.

High Priesthood was always hereditary. Check the high-priest list to confirm.

Correction! Exodus 28 already settles this clearly that it is the "Priests Office" that is hereditary Aaron's sons lineage.

This matter is settled.
