Abuja is like a composite of these cities within cities...

Gwarinpa, Lugbe and Kubwa can easily be standalone cities

It's said to be the biggest estate in Africa. But ,there is no big deal about it,believe me. It's no better than Festac. I think for all of Festac's flaws ,in terms of broken down facilities,Festac still beats Gwarimpa. I lived in Festac for 29 years. And,I know Abuja like the back of my hand.
For me,El-Rufai's Maitama beat any city, including Asokoro. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay in Ministers' Hill ,Maitama. And,I think the architectural template of Maitama should be used to develop other cities.

The network of good roads and accessibility beat FESTAC up and down with ease my brother! I used to live at first Ave, not far from Crunch Cafe* 2015.

Gwarinpa is one of the districts in Nigeria's capital of Abuja and was built by Nigeria's former Head of state, Sani Abacha. It is reputed to be the single residential estate not just in Nigeria but in West Africa.

Gwarinpa is like a city within a city and everything you will probably need can be found inside the estate.

Take a look of a drive I took around the massive estate

Overrated

They deceived the Southern people by telling them lies- Lagos is overpopulated,Lagos is crimes prone,Lagos is subsiding and ocean will soon carry it away ( as if London, Tokyo,New York are not surrounded by waters) as at today, just show us how Abuja has faired in the annual growth statistics and the others stated above and show us if those crimes, kidnapping, terrorism, etc is not worse than Lagos! Abuja is only using political money, nothing more!
Anyway,Lagos no send anybody o! Lagos will continue to move forward!

The most overrated place in Abuja in my humble abi biased opinion.

That said, any relocator from Lagos who has decent income and desires to replicate a semblance of Lagos vibe may probably feel good about Gwarinpa. If not, then zzzzz.

Nonsense.

@nairaman66, agreed ! The superb web of roads rubs off on Gwarimpa. It's also a crowded city.I still will pick Maitama over it any day.The city is long on hype and short on substance.
