I think it is less about him being a polygamist and more about him not being honest.

Atiku who wants to run for president is a polygamist. He follows a religion that allows it, and has been open about it. And his wives knew what they were getting into from the word go.

Yul is supposed to be a catholic. Most christian denominations, including the catholics , don't allow polygamy, or strongly disapprove of it. If he wanted to be a polygamist, he should have been honest with his first wife from day one, or he should have converted to a religion or denomination that allows polygamy.
