The governor also faulted critics who shaded him for saying he wasn’t supporting IPOB. He wondered where they were when he publicly supported the cause of their agitation against injustice in the region.

According to Wike, there is injustice and division in the country. He, however, insisted that the best way to protest against injustice isn’t by killing innocent souls in the country.

When asked if IPOB poses a threat to him, the governor neither affirmed nor denied it.

He said, “Why will they be a threat to me? It is because of the division in this country today that we have never had this country being divided this way.

“What pains me is that people take politics to think that I want to use this opportunity to fight this person. There came a time IPOB was singing praises about Wike. This Nnamdi Kanu was singing praises (that) Wike is our son.”

Every reasonable person knows that what ipob was initially agitating for was for justice and equity which is very reasonable but buhari and his wicked bloodthirsty cabals who won election using the old igbo hatred thought he can easily used the nigerian military to stop the agitation but only ended up escalating the whole thing. This ipob issue wouldn't have escalated to this level if buhari was a reasonable and responsible president. This agitation would have since ended if ipob members and igbo leaders were invited by buhari's govt to a round table face to face dialogue.

Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State has said he supports the agitation of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB.

Wike made the remark while recalling that IPOB leader, Nnamdi Kanu once sang his praises.

Appearing on Channels Television’s Politics Today, Wike said he supports IPOB’s agitation, but frowns against the group’s violent approach.

He, however, urged the Federal Government to listen and discuss with IPOB over their agitation.

According to the Presidential aspirant: “IPOB is not a threat to me, it’s because of the division in the country that we have the kind of agitation we have today.

“There was a time IPOB was singing praises of Wike, Nnamdi Kanu was singing praises about Wike that he is our son.

"There is nothing wrong in people agitating but all the Federal Government should do is listen to their agitations, talk with them; there is nothing wrong about that.

“My problem came when they came to my state and burnt infrastructure like the courts, police stations, and I said told them not to do that.

"Whether anybody likes it or not, I support the agitation, I support that we should sit down and discuss the marginalization of the Southeast.

“I’m a governor and I asked them, do you need to kill people in my area, destroy infrastructures put in place for you to know I’m with you? I said no; I won’t do that.”
