If I was an undergraduate and my Tertiary Institution called for essays from students, every student who sends in their essay is eligible to receive an ENTRY AWARD. It's an encouragement from an award giver to an award receiver for participating in a competition or carrying out an activity which was tasking but not mandatory.

From the pictures, it is easy to decipher that one of the innocent and pretty Igbo scholars in the picture was motivated to participate in a local or community competition in Ireland,most likely a ceremony that does not make it the headlines of a local TV in Ireland. With the white board/ projector screen and kids behind the scene, it is obvious that's a classroom or lecture hall.
The parents took advantage of the kid(s)' performance to score cheap political points back home.

Well, they may achieve their purpose because they had Caucasians in the picture. All I need to make 1 billion naira before the end of June is to pay for a venue in Lagos or Abuja and bring in two or three white speakers to tell people in British accent to invest in my Ponzi scheme and get 80% ROI
