After over a year of down tools, Anambra State Government employed medical doctors have finally called of strike.
According to Dr. Emma Ekwesianya, Chairman Anambra State chapter of Nigeria Medical Association (NMA), the striking doctors decided to pick up tools again because of the plight of the ordinary people in the societ.
“It is true, we have called off the strike. We have just signed the agreement with government about an hour ago. The Secretary to the State Government (SSG) signed for the government. A technical committee, headed by Prof. O.O. Mbonu was set up to execute the agreement.” He confirmed.
“We decided to take the 60 per cent offered by government because of our people. Government has been rigid and we do not want to continue with the rigidity of government. We are serving the people, not government and our people are suffering.”
Speaking further, Ekwesianya, revealed that a technical committee, headed by Prof. O.O. Mbonu had also been set up by the association to see to the implementation of the agreement with government sequel to the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Peter Obi-led government on Monday.
Chief Medical Director, Anambra State University Teaching Hospital (ASUTH), Amaku, Awka, Dr. Lawrence Ikeakor also confirmed the new development: “Well I’m happy to tell you that the strike has been amicably resolved, even though, like you said, it’s been a prolonged one but suffice it to say that it has been resolved and the doctors have resumed work.”
“The call off was yesterday (Sunday). The doctors had some negotiations and held their congress yesterday, during which they agreed to call off the strike. So they resumed duty today.
They are in their clinic. Well, I was not privy to the agreement but I will say that our representatives were satisfied with the arrangement, hence they decided to call off the strike.” He disclosed.

Buhari doesn't hide his wickedness and everybody knows it. Tinubu doesn't hide corruption and everybody also knows it. But the hypocrisy that goes with Peter Obi is what I don't understand. Being your true self is the best attribute of a leader. No matter the pretence, we all know you. The revelations from pandora papers about his hidden investments in foreign lands so as not to pay taxes in Nigeria, without also employing Nigerians, we all also know this. Be yourself and let Nigerians decide, we can decide to vote you irrespective of who you are, after all, this govt was voted for second term despite their obvious failures.

Nigeria needs a criminal like peter obi that can save, knows where to invest, and sees the future.

Not people that collect tax for the state till eternity.

Nigeria is not a tax haven, every foreign investment in Nigeria is known by their country of origin unlike that of peter Obi. Any investment in tax havens is solely for the purpose of secrecy.

They wanted him to increase their salaries and other entitlements but he refused. Peter Obi was not owing them a dime, the greedy doctors just went on strike because they wanted more money.

The doctors embarked on the strike over the state government’s alleged refusal to implement the Consolidated Medical Salary Structure, CONMESS, approved for doctors working in government-owned hospitals in the country.

Anambra state government agreed that they can only implement 60% increase.

Firstly, Peter Obi is a citizen of Nigeria and he is very much qualified to contest for president in Nigeria.

Secondly,who told you that he doesn't believe in Nigeria? Peter Obi has investments worth billions in Nigeria, he is an international business man with investments both inside and outside of Nigeria and it's very stupid of anyone to try to suggest that he did something wrong by having some of his investments outside the country.

Peter Obi wanted to add to the tally. Same way Abacha invested in tax havens.

He waited until he became Governor before he started hiding money in tax havens in the Caribbean in his daughter name

If you follow the timeline from Pandora it was during his time as Governor he started stashing the money in Caribbean.
