2023: Bassey ‘Sweet Prince’ Otu emerges C’River APC guber consensus aspirant

Prince Bassey Edet Otu has emerged the consensus gubernatorial aspirant of the ruling All Progressives Congress APC, in Cross River state NEGROIDHAVEN can report authoritatively.

This consensus gubernatorial nomination is a product of a Monday unanimous decision by party stakeholders and aspirants in a meeting which took place in Transcorp Hotel, Abuja having in attendance Governor Ben Ayade, APC Cross River state chairman Alphonsus Eba and all the gubernatorial aspirants under the platform of the All Progressive Congress, APC.

Otu popularly called Sweet Prince had been adjudged the most popular of all the APC Cross River aspirants.

Senator Otu (born 18 October 1959) is a Nigerian politician who represented the Calabar Municipal/Odukpani constituency of Cross River state, Nigeria in the Federal House of Representatives from 2003 – 2011. He was elected Senator for Cross River South in the April 2011 elections, running on the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) platform.

He later defected in 2016 to the All Progressives Congress (APC) and emerged the Cross River South Senatorial flag bearer of the party in the 2019 election.la

Prince Otu is very popular but it is highly unlikely that APC will produce a consensus candidate.

Since ayade came to apc,he has been using consensus to have his way.you forget how betta edu and hon Jude ngaji emerged....he uses consensus to impose his people.at first,the list was pruned to four and then two.frank insisted on prince plus forces from abuja told ayade that old apc must have guber and new apc deputy if not asuquo ekpenyong or Chris agara would have emerged...

This consensus arrangement started since last.even pdp are trying to do consensus Donald duke and some southern elders chose sir Arthur jarvis

Consensus candidate is gotten after everyone has picked up their forms and sale of forms have been closed, you can't say that you have a consensus candidate while sales of forms are still ongoing.
Do you know if a better and more popular candidate might pick the form at the last minute?
Concerning Betta and her NWC position, if the other woman had insisted on contesting then that consensus arrangement won't have worked out for that particular position.

Consensus is done after ALL the aspirants must have sat together and agree that they will step down for a particular candidate and it has to be announced publicly.

The case is the same after the news broke that Arc. Tonye Cole is the consensus candidate for APC in Rivers State but right now everybody has returned to consultation.

Breaking the news of consensus is not all there is to it, the sale of forms must have been concluded then every candidate will sit and agree that they will step down for a particular candidate (the governor might influence their decision though). It must also be made public by the candidates themselves for the purpose of reference.

Come May 29th and 30th of this month; Consensus is APC and APC is consensus….

Comrade, should we tell them..?

Ayade and APC are birds that won’t fly in Cross River.

Everyone should know that.

The fact that a governor defects to a party doesn’t automatically subject that state to his calling in the next election.

The best bet for the igbos is to align with tinubu because in him you can get the president you so much desire and wished for… stop hating him for. O reason because he’s miles ahead of all your politicians dead and alive
