It's a slap on the faces of all the kidnapped people for the government to forget them and resume train services. They don't even care about Nigerians.

They should sell the trains to Botswana if they cannot secure the lives of Nigerians, enough all these investments to help terrorists make more money.

How?

If someone is kidnapped on the road do you close the road indefinitely?

This is a bizarre decision.

The families of the victims should institute a class action suit against NRC, joining their parent parastatal, the ministry of transport, and its principal, the federal government.

Among the reliefs to be prayed for should be:

1. An order of mandamus compelling the NRC and co-defendants to do everything with a sense of urgency to secure the safe return of their loved ones alive and in health.

NRC was the contract partner for the purpose of conveying the passengers to their agreed destination. A service which it accepted to undertake and received payment. The payment made satisfied acceptance and accent to the contract by NRC.

2. An order to indemnify them collectively as a class to the amount of N1 trillion for emotional, psychological, economic, and other damages not including loss of life or damage to the body's ability to function in the state before captivity.

3. A determination of the court that allows individual captives or/and their representatives to seek further reliefs on a need basis pursuant to a finding of the court that it is in conformity with extant laws in the event of severe deformity to a captive or death.

We need to start holding people accountable in this Nigeria.

Whoever had such insensitive thought of resuming activities is not human. Smh.

I dont understand such arguments.

The government is not capable of securing the Abuja -Kaduna road. This leaves the train as the safer option.

By shutting it down, you are indirectly imcreasing the kidnapping risk for other people.

How does this show sensitivity?

All will be struck out for lack of merit. Real life is not Suits. But if you disagree, do youbhave any legal authorities to support your argument?

I'm sure the resumption was as a result of security concerns.. attacks would likely reoccur

Primary is around the corner so they want to resume before then, and mind you bandit will also see it as a cash out because they will mount road and rail track.

The Nigerian Railway Corporation (NRC) may have bowed to pressure from families of victims of the March 28 attack on the Abuja-Kaduna train as the corporation has shifted the resumption of service.

The NRC had earlier fixed Monday, May 23 for the resumption of the train service but the relatives of the victims opposed the move, saying it was insensitive to resume operation on the route when their loved ones are still languishing in captivity.

Apparently bowing to their demand, the NRC postponed the resumption indefinitely as no new date was announced.

Spokesman of the NRC, Mr. Mahmud Yakub, in a statement on Friday said a new date would be announced “soonest.”

In the statement, the NRC apologised for the delay in the resumption of the service even as it assured the families of the kidnapped victims that it was working very hard to safely rescue the kidnapped victims.

It said, “The NRC will continue to cooperate and collaborate with the Federal Government in its uncompromising mandate of protecting the territorial integrity and the internal security of Nigeria for safeguarding the lives and properties of its citizens especially as it concerns the rail sub-sector.

“In same vein, we once again identify with the relatives of those in captivity on the account of the recent attack on AKTS to be rest assured that the Federal Government is alive to its responsibility for the safe rescue of all persons being held hostage.

“We therefore appeal, particularly to the relatives of persons held hostage to be patient and cooperate with the Corporation and the Security Agencies as the Federal Government is exploring all possible ways and means to ensure the safe release of their loved ones from captivity, soonest.

“The NRC expresses its profound gratitude to the security agencies for the continued support.”

meaning the public should suffer more because people are kidnapped. I as much we understand their pain I dont think suspending the rail service is best option. if you think they suspend it because they care About the kidnapped folks, then you need a rethink.
Kaduna isn't 'safe' apparently, don't forget that they kidnapped some persons along the RAILWAY AXIS Few days ago, the suspension is based on SAFETY Reasons than EMPATHY OR SYMPATHY.
''All i want to say is that they don't really care about us.''

If a plane crashes, it generally does not imply that all other flights for that route also stop. That said, I can understand why this is being done. I just don’t think there is any rescue being planned either!

The right context for the plane would be...If terrorists attack a plane on a particular route....

Hah, this is Nigeria ooo no b other countries weh deh try put measures to avoid bad occurrences. I tell you, more people will be kidnapped and the GOVERNMENT will only "condemn the attack" that's all. Then wait for the next batch of victims. Is better for them to stop it else, you will watch many stories with nothing done to help the victims

Whoever had such insensitive thought of resuming activities is not human. Smh.

That thinking is shallow and makes no sense to me. To many Nigerians think sentimentality and not logically. With terrorism they're are no guarantees and that's the honest truth. America with all their tech and special forces took 10years to find and kill bin laden after 9/11. Did flights stop in that times? No. Just extra security while the search continued. Chibok girls have spent over 6 abi na 8 years in captivity. Will we shut down education until we find them? Will we ever find them together as a group of girls after all this time? The answer is clearly No.

A whole train service cannot be abandoned until the kidnapped are rescued. It makes no sense.

This is why Nigerians cannot lead a company. And that's why Nigerian leaders are poor. Too much sentimental decision making instead of taking the hard but necessary decisions.

I recall sometime ago whenever there is a thread on Nigeria Railway you will see NGpatriot JAMO84 lordviccodaguru and other bmc members flood the thread with praise for Buhari, nowadays they hide their face in shame and avoid the thread like plaque.

Buhari's Government has failed in all areas of Governance.
Money borrowed from Chinese is just wasting while tax payers money are used to service the loans and interest accrued.
