How Long Should Southern Part Of Nigeria Continue To Wait For The North? by 2good(m): 10:02am On Jul 16, 2011
For several decades now, the north have been favoured by the government of Nigeria because of their educational backwardness that is why we have programmes like quota system and educationally less developed state, where standard of a region is lowered just to give certain people a fair share of opportunity that abound in a country as against merit which is mainly the reason why Nigeria is in shamble.
Britain conquered the Northern and Southern part of Nigeria at about thesame period and introduced western education almost at thesame time with few negligible years difference in between but the north refused to generally accept to be educated.
Considering the current situation where a lot of Northerners are against western education which is the basis of our current unified educational system, but instead prefers the Arabic education which from clear observation have not done them well, how long do we southerners continue to wait for the north to catch up with the south because I think their prejudiced rejection of western education is the reason why Nigeria is very backward and its time we start giving these guys conditions and targets rather than just sit down and continue wallowing in poverty and stagnation in development.
Without educating our children, Nigeria cannot develop.
