Neighborhood overview

The Wuse district is a developed phase 1 area of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Abuja. The neighborhood lies to the north west of Abuja city centre and is among the busiest places in the capital.
The area is a key commercial centre, playing host to the famous Wuse Market. Other prominent landmarks include Bannex Plaza, City Park and Sheraton Hotel.
Wuse is one of the most renowned districts in the FCT for recreational activities. Many of the city’s best restaurants and nightclubs are located in the district. It can be accurately described as Abuja’s most fun and popular district.
The Wuse neighborhood offers an excellent mix of business, leisure, dining and accommodation. A variety of offices, hotels, shopping malls, cinemas and parks can be found across the neighborhood.
Accordingly the area offers many employment opportunities and is a magnet for people to visit from all over Abuja.

Getting around

Wuse is divided into two neighborhoods namely: Wuse 1 & 2. The neighborhoods are then further divided into zones ranging from 1-7.
It nears Maitama to the north east and Abuja Central Area to the south. Mabushi and Utako lie in the north west, while Wuye forms the districts boundary in the south west.
The district enjoys first-rate transport links to all parts of the city. Major roads include Ahmadu Bello Way, Herbert Macaulay Way, Olusegun Obasanjo Way and Nnamdi Azikiwe Expressway.

Land and houses in Wuse

Wuse houses some of Nigeria’s highly luxurious properties. Like other inner Abuja districts such as Asokoro or Garki there are very few large housing estates, instead, office buildings, mansions and apartment blocks are prominent features of the area.

Given its good infrastructure, excellent location in the heart of Abuja and the abundant social activities available, the Wuse area is a very well-liked place to live in. As a result, property prices here are some of the highest in the country.

The pictures here are of Central Area not Wuse. Once you drive out from Sheraton, as it is the case with you, you are in Central Area.
