I repeat. This was a personal experience that I had in 2019 on a business trip to Paris.

No jokes 2 euros for 100gb was subscribed on new line that I was given by the host partners in Paris. I confirmed and was mindful of this fact because it became part of the main consideration during the business discussion about a project whose franchise was deployed easily as-is via the internet in France (and Europe generally) because data was cheap. However, the franchisee segment of the business couldn’t be deployed as-is in Nigeria because data was quite expensive, and would prove onerous to potential franchisees.

An additional issue was the electricity supply that would also increase operating costs. Only the online aspect of the business was eventually deployed (imagine!!!).

That is why my statement was clear about the last time I personally took note (2019). However, with rising energy cost now in Europe, the rates may have changed but the difference will still be clear even if it is a 100% increase or more, else all their tv viewership which typically runs on internet streaming would be worst hit.

The bottom line is that data is very expensive in Nigeria, and some of the government officials (NCC) have repeatedly tried to address it.

29500 is what I currently pay for fibre used by like 28 people. About 55K (roughly $99) to upgrade in order to accommodate 20 more folks, without issues.

Depending on the businesses $99 Starlink can make a lot of sense . But not for an individual or family, except they can make business with it.

they will lose if they charge this high ,
how many people can afford 60,000 for data in a month when they can get far far cheaper data at maybe 30k to 40k
starlink will have to study the market and i don't think their rate will be much different from what is on ground now with other network , but their service delivery is the main issue , they must try to deliver good service and then they will get a sizeable market
they will likely have different packages ,that is the best way to beat their competitors and win the market
