Enron had nothing to do anything tangible. The company was in debt and hid it from investors. Click the link I supplied and read up on the scandal that was on going for years before it was introduced to Lagos. Maybe Obj saw what we later saw and that’s why he frustrated the deal to avoid us loosing money. Obj did the right thing.

All the talk about Obasanjo frustrating the deal is mere political talk. The truth was that the Enron power plants were diesel powered and obsolete plants that were very expensive to run and the price that they asked Nepa to pay for the electricity that they would have been generating was like four times the amount Nepa was selling electricity to the general public. It was Nepa that refused to do business with them because of their ridiculous pricing and not Obasanjo contrary to what the propaganda merchants want us to believe.

Well that of Enron is debatable.

But Econet is a obvious goof if not downright falsehood. As state governor, he could NOT have brought in the company because he lacks the powers to do so. If anyone, it should be ObJ,

And by the way, it's rather funny for any one to claim that as an achievement, because it isn't.

Oga, I don't care about Enron's infractions in their home country. The fact is they had the capacity to supply power. Enron struck a juicy deal with Lagos, as Lagos guaranteed payment for bulk supply of electricity. Their capacity to deliver was not affected by whatever issues they had abroad. Obj reneged on FG's guarantee to allow bulk supply to Lagos, on the transmission grid, which Enron needed for supply. Transmission was FG's asset and exclusive operation. FG mixed Enron's supply with other power sources, thereby undermining bulk supply to Lagos. That was the issue, nothing else!

Enron was broke and bankrupt. They wouldn’t have done anything tangible. Take out time to read about why the company itself failed.
