APC Lacks the Power to Disqualify Any Candidate for an election.

It is only the Court that can disqualify a candidate for an election in Nigeria.

The Supreme Court had ruled that even INEC lacks the power to disqualify any candidate.

There is nowhere in the Constitution that proscribes age as a barrier to any candidate for any election.

While I am not a fan of any of the candidates in APC, I feel APC would be shooting itself in the foot if they make a wrong move. A disqualified candidate would sue the party and all activities after the convention would be declared null and void.

They should allow every candidate to lose gallantly

Political parties can disqualify any aspirant before party primaries. Because an aspirant was disqualified from participating in a primary can never be a ground to nullify the primary election by a law court.

They can challenge their disqualification in Court

What is delaying them?

They can even decamp and test their popularity.

Femi Pedro once decamped to LP. Since almighty Obi is even the P flag bearer for LP, it should be easier

Obaseki was disqualified.

INEC and Parties can't disqualify a flag bearer not a primary election aspirants. In fact, the court has no say in the internal democracy of political parties.

Disqualification on any grounds other than falsification, irregularity in documents present, etc is illegal

Disqualification on the premise of his age is an outright discrimination

But Tinubu and Oshiomole ganged up to ensure APC disqualified Obaseki a whole sitting Governor when Oshiomole was APC Chairman

Karma is playing out for Tinubu also

What is good for Ambode is good for Tinubu
What is good for Obaseki is good for Tinubu

'Days before his disqualification, there was confusion about the genuineness of Mr Obaseki’s university certificate, until the University of Ibadan came out to confirm that he studied classics in the school and graduated in 1979 with a Second Class Honours, Lower Division'

If Obaseki had challenged his disqualification, the Court would have vindicated him and declared the disqualification as illegal but he chose to decamp to PDP

No court has jurisdiction over internal party affairs.

Go and rest.

APC can disqualify anybody it dims fit to going by the criteria it has set out for characters seeking her ticket for Elections.

But he was disqualified regardless?

Let those disqualified now challenge their disqualification in court.
