Hi all,

I hear alot of discussion around the topic of Car Fuel Consumption. Since we mosly drive tokuboh, it means most engine wont follow the car manufactures spec.

So to help us know if our Tokunboh Car Engine is fuel efficient or not, I would like to develop a template so anyone can use to gauge the Car fuel consumption

Kindly comment on this thread with your Car Make, Model, Year and your average fuel consumption e.g Toyota Camry 2006 N3,000 fuel for 200KM. Or Toyota Camry 2006 N3,000 Fuel Ketu to VI go come for 3 days.

With enough data will be able to combine the Data and develop a template so we would know if our Cars dey actually chop fuel or it's in our head.

About 400 miles- highway drive- Full tank
(Lagos - Ibadan to and fro)

Toyota Camry 2005 4cylinder

About 400miles Full tank (70 liters). left with about 12 litres of fuel.
Ilorin to lagos - (to and fro) on Ac

120miles 30litters, Lagos City drive with AC

4K fuel. Averages 84km before I refill

My Honda Accord 2009 will do 112.5km on 4K fuel city driving. I also have a evap system problem so I know it can do way more

60km from 6liters(1k fuel). From Kubwa to work in wuse 2 and back home with AC.

This is too much. Pls go service your nozzle, plugs, coils, throttle body, and use recommend oil.
At most you shouldn't use more than 2.5k with AC on except you live where there is traffic always.

is it a problem that there is no catalyst in the car?

Abakaliki to Independence layout Enugu and back to Abakaliki which is approximately 140km. I used 2k fuel.

Do the maths yourself.

~10.5 mpg on my E550.
~ 10.1 mpg on my FX.

City driving at average speeds of about 11 mph.

Peugeot 206 1999 Model

2k fuel from Masaka to Dei-dei and back to Masaka coupled with the traffic from Check-point to AYA.

My speed sensor is bad, speedometer doesn't work, so I can't exactly say what speeds I run. But I'm pretty sure I go above 100/kmh.

When I am sane:
City 14-16mpg
Highway: 22 mpg

When I am insane (pepper rest):
City 10-12mpg. I've had 8mpg before
Highway: 14-16mpg

Cerrato typically does about 7km/l in lagos traffic and 10-12km/l on the highway.

Please,what can i do to reduce fuel intake,injector was serviced last month.

Not too shabby. Depends on your driving style as well. But this is not too bad.
