On the 27th of May 1967, General Gowon announced Decree 14 of 1967, which abolished the 4 Regions of the time, created 12 new states to replace the Regions, transferred control of all resources, which hitherto was in hands of the Regions, to the Federal Government. Of the 12 new states Gowon created, he allocated half of them to his Northern Region, while the other 3 Regions got the half, a calculated attempt to make the North masters of Nigeria

Of course, Ojukwu and the East were having none of that and promptly declared their independence as the Republic of Biafra. The war that followed was mostly about getting the Oil in the Eastern Region. After the war ended in favour of Nigeria, Gowon created the NNPC, and that has remained the conduit which the rest of Nigeria has used to siphon the oil wealth of the Niger Delta that was once part of the Eastern Region

Oil is on its way out as an international commodity. Much of Europe have set 2030 as end of producing petrol and diesel cars, as they turn to electric cars.

Gas is the future. Anambra, Imo, Abia, Enugu and Ebonyi is sitting on hundreds of thousands of cubic feet of Gas, making the South East an area with one of the largest deposits of Gas in the world. This is for the future of Igbo land and generations unborn. We cannot, and should not allow it to be exploited to our own detriment in the name of "one Nigeria". We must protect whatever resources we have in Igbo land and our gas wealth is very important. The future of Nigeria must be restructuring with full resource control, or no future with Nigeria

What happend with South South oil, cannot be allowed to happen with South East Gas.

What gas are you talking about?

Oil is still the king even in 2030.

They say coal will be eradicated because they found oil.

Fyi, coal is still being used to run power plants in some European countries and in the developing world...there still market for it.

Likewise oil

I laugh Bi-lingually grin

This is a very 'Selfish' thinking. The FG allocation is Primarily gotten from the resources of all parts of the Nation, of which the SE benefits.

Well, EVERYONE! the Truth, fresh from it's Source.
