Lucky you. Every thing is expensive here in the East. A Cup of Rice is #500, a Cup of Beans is #480. One Maggie is #20. Everything is just too expensive.

500 doesn't have value here, cause you can't buy any meaningful thing with 500. HUNGER too much here. It's unfortunate that, media are not reporting the pains People are going through here.
MR Liar kwantinu!
You sure say you dey East so? Because all these price tags just look like wetin you fit get for Asa Villa. Fear God abeg.

Lol, come to Delta you won't buy like that. There are no catfish farmers in south east. Here we sell 1300-1400 per k.g but that fish I'm seeing there is not up to one k.g, at Least 3 of that size should give you 1 k.g so in Delta you could get 3 of that size for #3700 or #3900 depen. Sorry mehn, next time come to Delta to buy catfish or buy fishes from farms where they sell in kilograms. Or better still buy from CAFAN direct, I'm sure there's CAFAN in that state

Op that fish up there is not even up to 1k in my own side of lagos here, and those buying chicken for 9k,there is also old layers of 3k or less in the market...thr irony here is that majority if people here don't even go to market to buy, their parents buy for them to eat.

Don’t use Enugu as yardstick to measure price of things, have u forgotten that they add seat at home losses to their prices

..... Op that fish doesn't worth the price. But then again it depends on where you bought it.

Go to one day area in Agbani road and you will get a better and bigger cat fish at a lesser price.

I guess you bought this tiny thing at old artisan market?

I was shocked too when I saw what he called 3,600 fish. That fish is very small and I believe one can get that for 1,800 or less within artillery in Port Harcourt.

Read again.

Op said 2kg is 3600k while 1kg is now 1800k, previously 1000k last year.

The price is fair op.
You're even lucky you saw the size of the fish before you paid for it.

Worst is grilled fish (barbeque)where I buy from, they would use like 4 foil paper to wrap the fish for it to appear big in your eyes for 3k.

When you get home and unwrap it...you go see say na very small chikini fish.
This should be around 2.5k here

Re: The Catfish I Bought N3600 in Enugu by Raychee(f): 10:07am On Jun 17, 2022
I don't know where people are getting these ridiculous prices from. The cheapest you can get 1kg table size catfish is 1000naira. And I've never seen any catfish farmer sell 1kg for 1000naira in this 2022. OP said they got a 2kg catfish. The picture would definitely not show the accurate size because there's no physical reference. The cheapest you can get a 2kg catfish is 2k, which is still close to impossible. Someone is now claiming 900naira for 2kg. That fish must be stolen if it is that cheap.
