Certain moves don’t need explanation. Okukpe is the only person Obi can trust to hold the position for him until talks with a northerner mature. It’s called a place holder. Okukpe will then step down for the northern Muslim to step in. Asiwaju did same too. But the danger there is that the place holder may decide not to step down for the later chosen candidate.
